In 2010 and during the 1st quarter of 2011 more than a thousand products have been successfully introduced into the  most receptive  market segments compact fluorescent lamps,  modular circuit breakers with ultimate breaking capacity of 6 kA, accessories for aerial bundle conductors, new electrical board enclosures, wiring accessories, and assembly tools. The VA 47-63 EKF modular circuit breaker was awarded a medal at Electro 2010 international exhibition as “The best innovative equipment”.

Modular circuit breakers VA 47-63 represent a new generation of switching devices for controlling various circuits and protecting them against overloads and short circuits. The circuit breakers are designed for dwellings, industrial and public buildings. There are single-, double-, three- and four-pole versions.

Modular circuit breakers VA 47-63 represent a new generation of high-reliability switching devices for controlling various circuits and protecting them against overloads and short circuits. The maximum short-circuit breaking capacity of the circuit breakers is 10 kA at a width of one module. Not only technical parameters but also convenience of use was improved. The VA‑63 circuit breakers have  marker place with transparent cover and contact wear indicator. The circuit breaker can be installed on a bus. The VA-63 have single-, double-, three- and four-pole versions with “C” tripping characteristic. The rifled anodized terminals provide reliable wire connection. The technical features, tripping time and breaking capacity of the VA-63 are comparable to the best circuit breakers from world-known manufacturers of low-voltage equipment.

Residual current circuit breakers with overcurrent protection (RCBO) combine features of automatic circuit breakers and Type A residual current devices (electronic or electromechanical). The RCBO trips in case of overcurrent (i.e. excessive current or short circuit) or leakage to ground in the protected circuit. The RCBOs react both at sine a.c. residual current and pulsating d.c. residual current (Type  A). This permits their use in public buildings and dwellings with various home appliances (TV sets, video recorders, computers, regulated lighting sources, washing machines, etc.). Auxiliary elements for VA-99

Shunt release for VA-99 (125-160 A)

The VA-99 circuit breakers can be fitted with various auxiliary elements: shunt releases, undervoltage releases, auxiliary and fault signaling contacts, manual rotary drive and motorized drive, etc. Auxiliary elements are not included into the standard delivery set.  Auxiliary elements for the VA-99 can be selected and ordered according to the features of the installation to be protected. Desirable releases and auxiliary contacts are installed into the slots in the circuit breaker's housing after removal the blank plate. The corresponding wires should be neatly laid into the side slots of the case after moving the blank plate upwards.  Assembly is done in the inverse order.

Shunt release for VA-99 (250-400 A)

The shunt release is intended for remote tripping of the circuit breaker. It constitutes a solenoid acting on the tripping mechanism and causing the circuit breaker to break on application of voltage from an external source.  After remote tripping the circuit breaker has to be switched on manually.

Auxiliary contacts provide information on the main contacts position.

Undervoltage release provides tripping the circuit breaker if the input voltage (phase or line) drops below 70% of the rated value. Also, it prevents the circuit breaker from closure if the voltage is below 85% of the rated value. The  main purpose of the undervoltage release is to de-energize electric equipment in case of impermissible reduction of voltage. Also, the release can be used as shunt release if a pushbutton (NC) is connected in series with the circuit controlling the release. On short opening of the pushbutton contacts the release will trip the circuit breaker.

The device is intended for switching on/off the circuit breakers. The electrically-driven spring charging mechanism prepares the spring system during the circuit breaker opening. 1 2 3 4 Product range The VA-99С can be fitted with the following auxiliary components: • Interconnecting busbars (external conductors); • Shunt release MX; • Undervoltage release MN; • Auxiliary contacts (functions OF, SD, and SDE); • Solenoid operator CD/2. These components are not included into the standard delivery set and can be purchased separately. The releases and auxiliary contacts are installed into the slots in the circuit breaker’s housing after removal the blank plate. The corresponding wires should be neatly laid into the side slots of the case after moving the blank plate upwards. Wires belonging to secondary circuits (cross-section up to 1.5 mm2) are connected to the built-in terminal. The contacts and releases are versatile and can be used with any VA-99C circuit breakers.

The solenoid operator CD/2 is intended for remote control of automatic circuit breakers VA-99C rated for currents up to 630 A. It simplifies operation of the circuit breaker and can be used for re-closing after tripping. The circuit breakers fitted with the solenoid operator feature high reliability and easy operation. They can be used for local and remote control, auto-reclosing, simultaneous tripping, and as a component of distribution network automatics.

The auxiliary contacts with common point (SPDT) can be used for signalization of the circuit breaker position, and also in electrical interlocks, protective relaying, etc. The contacts meet the requirements of IEC 60947-5. Possible functions: - OF (on/off) - signalization of main contacts state; - SD (fault): indication of trip due to: - overcurrent; - short circuit; - operation of over- or undervoltage release; - TEST button pressing (“push to trip”); - SDE (fault trip): signalization of trip due to: - overcurrent; - short circuit. The contact returns to the initial state on resetting the circuit breaker to its initial state. The OF, SD and SDE functions are realized with the same type of the auxiliary contact depending on its position in the complete assembly. The contact is fixed by latching under the front panel of the circuit breaker. To realize the SDE function in a circuit breaker with thermomagnetic release the “SDE” actuating mechanism should be installed.

The VA-45 circuit breakers with microprocessor control rated for currents from 630 to 5000  A are intended for protection of LV power networks (up to 690 V) against overcurrents and short circuits with inverse time delay (selective) tripping characteristic. Also, they can be used for operative switching on/off power networks by operator’s command or for disconnection of loads in case of network voltage drop below a preset threshold or system outage. The built-in microprocessor protection and control unit provides information for the maintenance personnel on the load condition, parameters of the network protected (for each of the phases), causes of automatic tripping, and condition of the circuit breaker and main contacts thereof. The corresponding data are visualized on the display and can be transmitted to the dispatcher console via serial communication channels. The circuit breakers are designed for installation into cabinets and cubicles (withdrawable version is also available). The circuit breakers can be used as disconnectors with either  manual or automatic operation, and meet the requirements of Russian standards GOST-R 50030.1 and GOST R50030.2 related to such function.

Add-on contact block PKE GOST R 50030.4.1-2002

Auxiliary elements and accessories are designed for integration of the contactors into process automation systems. They simplify assembling and maintenance of electric installations making the solution flexible and more customer-friendly.

Contactor type

Add-on contact block provide additional contacts for contactors KME and KTE. Any of the contactors can be fitted with a two- or four-contact module with various sets of making and breaking contacts. The auxiliary contact modules are mechanicallyconnected with the contactors. They are fixed with a latch.

2 3 4 The timer modules provide additional contacts for contactors KME and KTE. The timer provides a delay of opening or closing an auxiliary circuit from 0.1 to 180 s. The timer module has one normally-open (NO) and one normally-closed contacts. The module is  mechanically connected to the contactor and fixed with a latch. Such fixture provides reliable and rigid connection between the auxiliary module and the contactor.

Thermal overload relays KTE are used for protection of three-phase squirrelcage motors against continuous overcurrents including those caused by phase loss condition. The relays are used as component parts in electric drive control circuits.

The interlock devices are used to exclude simultaneous closure of contactors mounted on the same plate in reversible circuits and reclosers. Along with mechanical interlock electrical one can also be provided. The interlock  module is  mounted on the side of a contactor (between two contactors).

Motor starter circuit breaker KME is a complete motor control device consisting of  mini contactor KME, thermal O/L relay RTE, enclosure with cable glands and a control push-button. The circuit breakers are intended for remote direct-on-line (DOL) start of squirrel-cage induction motors rated for voltages up to 400 V. Also, they provide protection of the motors against continuous overloads and overcurrents caused by phase loss condition. Current transformers TTE and TTE-A GOST 7746-2001 Pattern approval certificate of measuring instrument No. 30762 is registered in Russian registry of measuring instruments under No.3250-08.

The current transformers are intended for conversion of current into a signal for measuring instruments, protective relays, and control equipment. The transformers are designed for 50 Hz networks with voltages up to 690 V. The current transformers may be installed e.g. in lead-in switchboards for energy accounting. EKF’s product range includes current transformers with built-in busbar (TTE-A) and window-type transformers: ТТE-30, ТТE-60, ТТE-85, ТТE-100, and ТТE-125.

The transformer has an integral case made of self-extinguishing plastic. The built-in busbar of transformer TTE_A is made of tin-plated copper suitable for connection to both copper and aluminum busbars.
