General Information ABOUT THE THERMALTECH LEARNING INSTITUTE

The Thermaltech Learning Institute offers HVAC professionals the opportunity to learn from leaders in the industry. Our training center, located in Sewickley Pennsylvania, is equipped with a hands-on training lab that provides an in-depth look at some of the systems that Thermaltech offers.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All payments are due upon registration. Once the student is enrolled in a course, the payment is processed and is non-refundable. However, if a student should need to cancel and reschedule their training, they may do so at no additional charge, as long as the change is made prior to the start of class. Name changes are also permitted at any time prior to the beginning of the class. Rescheduling and/or name changes will not be permitted after the class has begun. All class dates are subject to change. Thermaltech reserves the right to cancel any class if the minimum enrollment requirement is not met or in the event of inclement weather or illness. All students will be alerted as early as possible in the event of a cancellation. The student may then either register for the next available date for the same course, or they may request a refund.

TUITION

Tuition* for each course is per student, per course and all payments must be received upon enrollment in the class. Tuition includes course instruction, training materials, light breakfast and a catered lunch. Payments can be made by providing a purchase order, credit card, or business check.

PRIVATE CLASSES

Private classes are also offered at Thermaltech. Courses can be structured based on your requests.

About the Trainers DON HINKLE

Daikin Service & Controls Champion Don Hinkle has been working in the HVAC industry for over thirty years. As a field service technician he developed an interest in the controls side of the industry and worked his way up to Senior Engineering Specialist with Siemens. In 2007, he joined Havtech to lead the service division. In 2012 when Havtech started a controls division, Don transitioned into a new role as a Project Manager for Havtech Solutions. In his time at Havtech he has excelled in working with Daikin Equipment, earning the titles Daikin Controls Specialist and Daikin Certified Trainer. He is also start up and repair certified for both ABB ACH/ACS550 and ACS800 drives and has been start up and repair certified by AAON, Annexair, WattMaster, PoolPak and McQuay. Don is also a Trend Certified Engineer.

MICHAEL HIRSCHBOCK

VRV/VRF Service Supervisor & Trainer

Michael Hirschbock has been in the HVAC industry for over twenty years. Beginning with a vocational program in high school, his career path has taken him through many aspects of the industry. Starting as a Service Helper he advanced to Service Mechanic, Installer, Foreman, Instructor, and Service Manager, while always having a passion to help others gain knowledge and advance in the trade. In the seven years prior to him starting at Havtech, he was the Service Manager for a design build contractor and has been a part of the installation of many Daikin heat pump and heat recovery projects. In addition to his many Daikin product certifications, Mike is also certified in multiple other manufacturers’ products, and is always growing his knowledge to provide outstanding customer support and training to every customer.

This course is part of the prerequisite for the Daikin VRV Service and Troubleshooting course. Students must complete both Daikin VRV IV Install and Daikin VRV IV Commissioning before they can take Daikin VRV Service & Troubleshooting.

Post Course Requirements

At the end of this two day course, students will be able to log in to their Daikin University accounts to access their certificates of completion.

Cost

$500 per student. Includes Daikin manuals and literature, hands on training, light breakfast and a catered lunch.

Prerequisites: VRV III Install & Commissioning or VRV IV Install & Commissioning, taken within the past 2 years. Students must complete both Daikin VRV IV Install and Daikin VRV IV Commissioning before they can take Daikin VRV Service & Troubleshooting. This 16hr class is mandatory prior to purchasing a Daikin Service Checker.

At the end of this two day course, students will be able to log in to their Daikin University accounts to access their certificates of completion
