taly and Brazil signed an agreement for the building of a motorcycle district with Italian know-how in the Free Economic Zone of Manaus, in the State of Amazonas, Brazil. The agreement was signed by Vice Minister for the Economic Development Adolfo Urso and Brazilian Minister Ivan João Guimarães Ramalho in Rome, in the presence of Amedeo Teti, General Director for Trade Policy at the Ministry of Productive Activities. It is the first concrete action towards the Strategic Partnership between these countries, signed by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Lula da Silva. The potential of Brazil’s market is so huge that it can be developed by other Italian industries as well.” The partnership signed by Berlusconi and Lula builds on this idea, as well: in the next five years several agreements with a value between 10 and 20 billion Euros should be signed for different sectors: from infrastructures to defense, from energy to tourism and culture. “Italy is the sixth most important trade partner for Brazil; furthermore, it is interested in a mutual promotion of investments, especially considering the opportunities offered by sports events in the next years,” stated Vice Minister Urso. “2011 is the Year of Italy in Brazil, and together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs we are planning several great promotional events in order to strengthen the image of Italy and our presence in Brazil. In anticipation of the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016, we will organize an Italian trade mission to Brazil in order to investigate the business opportunities and supply to the Italian companies all necessary information about state and communal tax incentives for foreign investments.”

talia e Brasile hanno siglato un’in- PIETRO CELI tesa per la realizzazione di un distretto motociclistico con knowhow italiano nella zona franca di Manaus, nello stato di Amazonas. L’accordo è stato firmato a Roma dal Vice Ministro allo Sviluppo Economico con delega al Commercio Estero, Adolfo Urso, e dal Ministro brasiliano Ivan João Guimarães Ramalho, presente, tra gli altri, anche il D.G. per le Politiche Commerciali del Ministero Attività Produttive, Amedeo Teti. L’accordo costituisce il primo atto concreto del Piano d’azione finalizzato al Partenariato Strategico tra i due Paesi, firmato a Washington lo scorso 12 aprile dal Premier Silvio Berlusconi e dal Presidente della Repubblica Federativa del Brasile, Lula da Silva. Come ha tenuto a sottolineare il Vice Ministro Urso, la nascita del distretto motociclistico italiano di Manaus implicherà “produrre Made in Italy in un grande mercato e per un grande mercato emergente come il Brasile, con orizzonti anche più ampi come Mercosur o le Americhe e, allo stesso tempo, produrre di più in Italia”. A rendere ancora più “appetibile” per le aziende italiane la nascita di questo distretto, gli “allettanti incentivi fiscali offerti dalla zona franca di Manaus”, come ha ricordato ancora Urso, grazie ai quali comunque “le imprese italiane potranno produrre in patria fino al 40% del contenuto di ogni moto”.
Negli ultimi anni il Brasile ha dimostrato di essere un partner strategico ed affidabile, e l’auspicio è che questo distretto “possa trainarvi nuovi parchi industriali italiani. Le potenzialità brasiliane sono tali – ha affermato Urso – che certamente altri settori industriali italiani potranno sfruttarle”. In questa direzione va del resto anche il sopraccitato Piano d’azione firmato da Berlusconi e Lula, che, per quanto riguarda le imprese italiane, prevede nei prossimi cinque anni la stipula di accordi valutabili tra i 10 e i 20 miliardi di euro, riguardanti diversi settori: dalle infrastrutture alla difesa, dall’energia al turismo e alla cultura. “L’Italia, sesto partner commerciale del Brasile, guarda con grande attenzione anche alla promozione reciproca degli investimenti”, ha concluso i l Vi c e M i n i s t ro U r s o . “ P e r i l 2 0 11 , A n n o dell’Italia in Brasile, con il coordinamento del Ministero degli Esteri stiamo predisponendo un programma di grandi eventi promozionali al fine di rafforzare l’immagine e la presenza commerciale italiana nel Paese. In vista poi della Coppa del Mondo 2014 e delle Olimpiadi 2016, nei prossimi mesi organizzeremo una missione imprenditoriale italiana in Brasile, per esplorare le opportunità di affari e fornire alle imprese tricolori un quadro informativo degli incentivi statali e municipali agli investimenti stranieri”.
