Dear EISD Parents, Faculty, and Staff, I am excited we completed a successful first six weeks of school with the students and staff continuing to work hard each day. As the students arrive on campuses, I can see their smiles and the joy on their faces as they engage in the classroom.

As we begin our second six weeks of school, parents please remember that daily student attendance is critical to your child’s success at school.

Our district initiative this year is to Erase The Gaps in learning caused by the COVID pandemic; therefore, we need our students at school each day in order to address their academic and social emotional learning needs.

Unless your child is ill, please send them to school. Attendance matters!

Also, please know that the safety and well-being of our students and staff continues to be our number one priority. In regards to the pandemic and other communicable diseases, please continue to screen your child each day for COVID-19 symptoms as well as symptoms for other communicable diseases such as the Flu. If you have any questions or concerns contact your child’s school.

In addition, it takes all stakeholders working together as a team to meet the needs of our students and to ensure everyone’s safety. I ask of each of you if you see or hear something; say something! If you have any information you would like to share regarding safety, please contact your child’s school or the Student Services Department. Also, reports and tips can be submitted anonymously through our STOPIt app which can be found on our website.

As a reminder, we have upcoming district professional development and holidays in October. The professional development day is October 8, 2021 (no school for students), and October 11, 2021, is a districtwide holiday, all campuses and facilities will be closed. We encourage everyone to wear face masks to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and especially while indoors and after returning from an extended weekend break.

BISHOP September has been our month for solidifying our daily schedules and routines. Our students worked hard to prepare for Six Weeks assessments. Mrs. Darnell, Mrs. Elrod, and Millie (adaptive therapy dog) have been teaching social, emotional lessons to our students. The kids get especially excited when they can spend time with Millie. The staff at Bishop Elementary continually strives to improve instruction so that each student will be successful.

September Highlights: Bishop Night at a home Bulldog football game Open House/Title I Meeting Lessons with Millie Reading with Oreo (Reading Rabbit) Reminders: Learning begins at 7:45 am. “Beat the Bell” continues to motivate students to be on time every day.

Souder Elementary It is hard to believe that we have completed the first six weeks of school! As we head into the fall season, the dust is settling, and our students are settling in and getting accustomed to the new year. Like last year, this year brings about its challenges due to the ongoing pandemic, but the staff and students at Souder Elementary are working extremely hard to “Erase the Gaps!” We are gearing up for our Title 1 Parent Meeting in collaboration with kickoff celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in September, and we are very excited to see our student and staff performances!

As we head into the month of October, we are looking forward to many things! Our first “Lattes with Principal Little'' will be held the first Friday, October 1st.

Parents will be able to meet virtually or meet face to face with the principal to discuss ideas for improvement for the school year, and ways to be involved with the campus. Parents will enjoy coffee and pastries and rich discussions are being held. Students will not attend school on Friday, October 8th and Monday, October 11th in Observance of Columbus Day. Red Ribbon week will be celebrated the week of October 25-October 29th, and we will conclude October’s activities with our EL Parent meeting this month. This meeting will be held in conjunction with our "Dia de los muertos-Book-A-Treat" Event.

As we progress into the school year, we are asking our parents to read to and with their children each day. Ask them about their day and ask them to demonstrate what they are learning at school. We are excited about this year, and we love our students and community!

Townley Elementary

Greetings Everman Bulldogs! It’s hard to believe that October is already here! We are blasting off and soaring to new heights here at Townley Elementary. The students and staff are settling into our Townley routines and we’re looking to have a tremendous year! During the month of September everyone showed their Bulldog spirit by participating in the Homecoming week activities, Hello Week, and Hispanic Heritage Month. Our families attended Open House on September 24th to take a peek at the exciting happenings that are taking place on campus. And to top things off teachers and staff who are going above and beyond were awarded on Super Sonic Fridays, with a large drink from Sonic!

October is Bullying Prevention Month. We will have lots of activities geared toward teaching our community that bullying is not okay. Drug Awareness will be celebrated during Red Ribbon Week as well. Our counselor has planned a week full of amazing lessons that we hope will encourage our scholars not to use drugs. We are also recognizing Dyslexia Awareness in our community. Last but not least, there will be plenty of snacks to eat for Trunk or Treat. This is a month filled with celebrations!

This year Townley is the L.E.A.D. campus in our district. L.E.A.D is the acronym for Learning with Excellence, Achievement, and Determination. The students are really enjoying the perks of having tutoring built into their school day, after school enrichment, and extra time to spend with teachers and classmates. The enrichment program takes the cake with yoga, coding, cooking, drama & dance, as well as other exciting activities for our scholars to participate in.

OCTOBER NEWSLETTER Greetings EAHS parents and students! Thank you for helping us have a great start to the 2021-2022 school year! Our Back to School Open House was a great success. Parents were able to meet with teachers, the counselor, and administrators, in addition to taking a tour of the campus. We look forward to seeing you at our October parent involvement events.

In September, we had a Backyard BBQ to celebrate our students for successfully transitioning back to school. They have been doing a great job arriving on time, completing coursework, and following the EISD dress code. Parents, please continue to encourage your students to keep up the hard work!

2021 Hello Everman High School Community, We are so proud of our students for a great start to the school year! It has been exciting to see our students back in the classroom, on the field or on the court. Our teams like Volleyball are really bouncing back after a COVID year. We also are seeing excellent progress in our Theatre Arts, Band and Choir programs! We can't wait to see them competing in the playoffs or sweepstakes! October is FAFSA month so seniors should be working with our go center personnel to get all their paperwork in for financial aid. If you have questions about financial aid, college applications or anything college related, please reach out to Bailey Cockerham at bcockerham@eisd.org. October also means we will have visits from college reps. Please encourage your seniors to check their emails regularly so they don't miss any opportunities.
