Did you know, in 1922, the Everman school district created thirty $1,000 00 bonds to build ‘The Everman School’? One organization called ‘The Modern Woodsmen of America’ purchased all 30 bonds That money allowed EISD to build ‘the most modern rural school in the state’ according to a 1922 issue of the Fort Worth Star Telegram The Modern Woodsmen of America is still in existence and has offered to match the amount raised by PTO’s shirt and brick fundraiser (up to $2,500 00) It is amazing that an organization that invested in EISD 100 years ago is continuing to support our students and work here
Want to be a part of ‘The Everman School/Hommel’s’ lasting legacy? Our PTO is offering a limited run shirt celebrating 100 years They will also be installing a brick walkway in our campus garden You can have a personalized brick engraved with your name, the years attended/ worked at our school and an image of your choice For more information, go to https://go rallyup com/72a81e or follow the QR code below
This month’s historical image is the entire EISD staff for the 1923 1924 school year

Dyslexia Awareness Month
#GoRedForDyslexiaEach year, October is recognized worldwide as Dyslexia Awareness Month, a time to come together to raise awareness, share resources, and tell stories about dyslexia successes.
Dyslexia is the most common learning disability in the world Statistics show that as many as 1 in 5 people have dyslexia. Dyslexia is a neurological condition that causes difficulty with reading, spelling, and writing. Dyslexia has nothing to do with an individual’s intelligence or willingness to learn. Dyslexia is a lifelong condition, but early identification and treatment is the key to helping students with dyslexia achieve in school and in life.
Please take a few minutes to watch this short video on dyslexia. https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=zafiGBrFkRM
To help raise dyslexia awareness, Everman ISD, will Go Red for Dyslexia on Friday, October 14, 2022. GO RED (Reimagining Education for Dyslexia) is a community of passionate individuals, companies, schools, and organizations that campaign to promote literacy and a greater understanding of dyslexia. Together we can help promote dyslexia awareness in our schools, community, country and across the world.
For more information about dyslexia please visit the International Dyslexia Association website at dyslexiaida.org.

Everman Academy
Everman Academy kicked off its Bulldog Building Blocks (BBB) program on Saturday, September 17, 2022. BBB provides expanded SEL support and wrap-around services to our current and former DAEP students/families. The mission of BBB is to empower young adults to build stronger Character, Capacity, and Community by helping them see and embrace the depth of opportunities ahead. We recognize how critical family support can be throughout a student’s academic journey and want to ensure that all stakeholders have access to the tools needed for personal success. The opening BBB session was a great start! We have a total of (8) monthly sessions scheduled throughout the 2022-2023 school year.

JOE.C.BEAN HIGHSCHOOL
When someone hears Everman, what comes to their mind? As the principal of Everman Joe C. Bean High School, I want everyone to know and understand that the “E” in Everman represents excellence. Our campus motto is “Excellence, Everywhere, Every Day,” and each day, our goal is to operate in the spirit of excellence.
Creating a mindset of excellence begins by addressing the culture and setting high expectations. For our campus to be successful, it will require a team effort. Maximum effort is needed from everyone associated with our campus. Everyone from our faculty and staff, scholars, central administration, parents, community stakeholders, and campus administration is an important piece to the Everman Joe C. Bean High School puzzle. Like any other puzzle, if there is one piece missing, you will quickly notice it. We expect excellence from our scholars every day as we educate and mold our young men and women to be positive agents of change.
Some of the things we are looking forward to establishing and growing this year are: All Pro Dads, student ambassadors, Bow Tie Tuesdays, and male and female mentor programs. Our campus has many exceptional educators, with a glass half full mentality, that are passionate about our scholars. We will meet our scholars where they are, as they are.
We welcome you to come be a part of what we are building here at Everman Joe C. Bean High School as we work daily to fulfill our mission of equipping scholars with the knowledge and skills to become positive agents of change that will change their community and the world.
