The Everman Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously voted to name Dr. Felicia Donaldson the Interim Superintendent of Schools Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the board meeting.

Dr. Donaldson has served as the district’s Assistant Superintendent since 2016. She has 24 years of experience in education. She began her career as a middle school science teacher and later served as Assistant Principal, Principal, Director of Professional and Community Development, and Executive Director of Human Resources.

Dr. Donaldson is a Fort Worth native, graduating from Eastern Hills High School. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Master’s of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Christian University, and her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Tarleton University.

Dr. Donaldson believes that a quality education is the conduit to success for all students regardless of their background, environment, or socioeconomic circumstance. She has dedicated her career to removing barriers to success for students and believes it is her calling, duty, and responsibility to establish and maintain learning environments that remove barriers so that all students are equipped to compete in a global society, and are prepared to be productive, contributing, and positive members of society.

“I am honored to be named Interim Superintendent, and I will continue to carry on the excellent foundation already established in Everman,” said Dr. Donaldson.

Dear Dan Powell Early Learning Academy Bulldogs, Welcome back! We are looking forward to welcoming our students and families for the 2021-2022 school year. Our team has worked very hard throughout the summer to ensure we are ready to meet all of our students' academic and social-emotional needs. Dan Powell is an excellent school with a team focused on building a strong foundation for all of our young learners. Along with the district, we have focused on building a strong literacy program to ensure our students have the foundational skills needed to become strong readers and develop a lifelong love for reading. Our staff will do what is needed to ensure that our students feel cared for and are prepared to learn in a safe environment.

Dear Bishop Elementary Family,

I am very excited and honored to be the Principal of Bishop Elementary. I have served at the campus for 17 years as a teacher, an instructional coach, and assistant principal. The students, parents, and staff truly make Bishop an exceptional school, and I could not be more proud to serve as principal. In addition to my 17 years in education at Bishop, I taught four years at Hommel and three years in Aledo ISD. The knowledge and skills I have gained in 24 years as an educator have well prepared me for this role as an administrator.

On a personal note, I grew up on a small farm in western Oklahoma.

Hard work, responsibility, and honesty were just some of the traits instilled in me at a young age. I believe these skills will be of great value as an administrator. I have been married to my husband David for 24 years. We have a 23 year old son named Zac. David works in construction, and Zac is a computer technician. We enjoy fourwheeling, watching movies, and traveling as a family.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your family. I am here to serve the students and parents of Everman ISD. With your support, we will continue to make Bishop a place where students feel safe, loved, and achieve academic success.

E. Ray Elementary My name is Andy Utsumi and I will be the Principal of E. Ray Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year. I am very happy and excited to work together for the betterment of our students. I am honored to serve the students, faculty, and community. This year promises to be full of achievement, productivity, and growth for our students. Together, we will aim for excellence as we focus on student engagement, maintaining a positive school culture, and rigorous instruction based on standards-aligned lessons.

I have been working in education for the past 20 years, 17 of which have been in Everman. I served as the Assistant Principal at Hommel Elementary for four years and taught for 13 years at Bishop Elementary School.

I received my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in Elementary Education. In 2015, I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.

Hello Hommel Family, This is Principal Quinonez, writing to say that we are so excited for the 20212022 school year. It is always an honor and privilege to serve our students, families, teachers, and staff. We have a new addition to our family this year. His name is Jacob Seals, and he is our new Assistant Principal. Please help me give him a warm welcome when you see him in our building.

Hommel Elementary’s mission is success for every student in every class every day. We believe that it is our responsibility to meet our students' social, emotional, and academic needs. Our teachers and staff are wholeheartedly committed to this belief.

We also want to thank you for all the love and support you provide us, as a school community, on a regular basis.

Souder Elementary Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! It is with great pleasure that I bring you greetings, as we embark upon a new school year! I am entering my second year as principal of Souder Elementary! I am originally from Louisiana, but my family and I moved to Texas in 2007. I am married to my husband, Antonio, and have two children, both currently in college, and a granddaughter. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education and a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration. Over the past 18 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, with thirteen of those years in Everman ISD. I spent nine years at Everman High School as an English teacher, AVID teacher, AVID Coordinator, and the 12th Grade Assistant Principal. I also spent the last three years at Baxter Junior High School as the 8th Grade Assistant Principal.

We, the staff, will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by Souder Elementary by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on character education initiatives, the social and emotional well-being of our students, the use of data to drive instruction, and provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase ALL of the students' achievement.

We will celebrate our successes, small and large. We will encourage and motivate our students every day, and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community. Not only am I excited to continue working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. My goal is to ensure that all children are happy and safe, so that they are able to learn as much as they can each day.

I am honored to serve as the Principal of Townley Elementary. I am eager to continue to serve the students of Everman and look forward to having your child back in school. We have assembled a dynamic staff dedicated to pushing our students to succeed and working with parents and community members at Townley. I embrace working with our students and continuing the outstanding work at Townley Elementary.

This will be my 21st year in the Everman Independent School District and 13th year as an administrator. Prior to my service as an administrator, I served as a Special Education teacher for eight years at J.W. Bishop Elementary. Prior to that, I taught at-risk students at Boys Town in Nebraska for 5 years.

Townley Elementary has a history of people with a strong work ethic and dedication to student success. I will continue to build on what everyone has worked so hard to achieve, and to use that strong foundation to take Townley Elementary to the next level. I am proud of the efforts of our teachers and parents to ensure education continues for our students through any challenge. With the support of the community and staff, I will always strive to provide a safe place for your child with an atmosphere of high expectations and genuine care. Together we will continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities and academic excellence for all of our students.

On a personal note, I have lived in the area for most of my life. My wife Amanda, is a school counselor at Hommel Elementary and my daughter, Olivia is doing well as a young adult. I am a big sports fan, and always root for the Cowboys and Bulldogs. I love to travel and spend time with my family.

Roy Johnson STEM Academy

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. I am Luis Valdez and I am honored to be the principal at The Roy Johnson STEM Academy. This 2021-2022 school year will mark my 33rd year in education and my second year at STEM Academy. We are definitely ready to begin the second year with a new group of 6th graders and our returning 7th and 8th graders.

First, I want to congratulate everyone on a great first year at the STEM Academy. What an interesting and challenging year for everyone. As a team, we were able to establish a great safe and learning environment for all our students and staff while providing great instruction.

Throughout this new school year, our students will take part in establishing new traditions and will persevere with the level of academic excellence that Roy Johnson STEM Academy has established from year one.

At the STEM Academy, students have the opportunity to be enrolled in STEM classes such as App Creators, Flight and Space, Automation, Robotics, and other Project Lead the Way courses. Traditional elective courses such as Band, Choir, and Athletics are also available to all our students.

Furthermore, students are able to discover and learn about future STEM careers and educational possibilities such as in Engineering, Computer Science, Coding, and Website Designer. Our goal is to expose our students to a 21st-Century learning environment that emphasizes and develops skills in innovation, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration.

The STEM Academy truly offers small classroom sizes and the latest in instructional technology. Each classroom is equipped with a state-of-the-art interactive smart board and Chromebooksfor each student.

Parents, with your collaboration, our students, will thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. We are proud to provide a challenging and diverse curriculum that offers rigorous and supportive educational experiences and encourages each student to fully tap into his/her potential as a learner.

I have been a part of the Everman ISD team since 2015. I served as the Dean of Instruction for four years and 12th-grade assistant principal for a year at Everman Joe C. Bean High School. In addition, I served as a high school English teacher, English Department Chair, Testing Coordinator, and Data Analyst in Fort Worth ISD for nine years. I have three amazing children, Reginald, Haleigh, and Hilari.

As the principal of Everman Joe C. Bean High School, I would like to welcome all students, parents, staff and faculty back to school. I am so excited about the 2021-2022 school year.

This is our chance to somewhat get back to some normalcy. For the past 2 years, we have intentionally progressed towards “Creating a Culture Committed to Excellence.”

This intentionality resulted in our campus sustaining a worldwide pandemic, while at the same time ensuring our number 1 priority was met: STUDENT SUCCESS. As you know, Everman ISD pulled together and made sure our students and families had the necessary resources to continue high quality learning experiences for all students. Out of all the calamity, there was a highlighted fact that bolded itself even more… We are BETTER TOGETHER! No matter what we face this school year, we will win together.
