Public Safety Police Academy – 500 [134] A career in law enforcement is both challenging and rewarding. To become a police officer in the State of Ohio, an individual must successfully complete a basic training program approved by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC). A cadet must also pass the state certification test. The Police Academy is an all-inclusive program that will provide all the equipment needed to complete the basic academy. This includes the rental of a Glock 9mm firearm and complete duty belt. It covers the cost of ammunition, uniforms and other required training supplies. A Chromebook will also be included in the fees for the cadets to use for notes and class activities. The cadets will keep this Chromebook at the end of the program. Cadets must pass the 15th percentile of the Cooper Institute Physical Fitness Standards a minimum of 30 days prior to the start date of class. Standards are available on the EHOVE website. Prerequisites: FBI & BCI check, physical & drug screening. All prerequisites must be completed at least 21 days prior to the start date of class.

Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) – 562 [13]

RN – Paramedic Online

The curriculum expands the knowledge and skills of the EMT to care for patients who may have critical emergencies or are seriously injured and traumatized. The student will expand their knowledge of patient assessment and add lifesaving skills such as IV Therapy, intraosseous infusion, defibrillation, and medication administration of certain drugs. Includes classroom and clinical/internship.

Exclusively for Registered Nurses! Nurses that meet the eligibility requirements and competency standards can complete Paramedic training in less than 220 hours. Course includes Core Curriculum, Practical Skills Test and Field Externship with an approved Paramedic Squad. Didactic hours will vary depending on the RN’s achieved professional credentials and higher education.
