With more than 450 offices in 50 countries, and a mission to break down barriers in language, culture and geography, EF has helped millions of people of all ages and nationalities become citizens of the world.
THE LEADER IN HIGH SCHOOL EXCHANGE EF Foundation for Foreign Study, a non profit organization, brings more international students to the U.S. than any other program. OPEN THEIR WORLD, AND YOUR OWN When you join our community of International Exchange Coordinators, you turn dreams into reality for students from across the globe. And that’s just the beginning. As an IEC, you’ll: • Bring the world into your community • Break down cultural barriers • Impact the lives of students forever • Make friends from all over the world • Represent America to a foreign student • Help develop future leaders
WHO ARE IECS? IECs are independant contractors who come from many different careers, backgrounds, ages and communities. Whatever their story and wherever they live, all our IECs share certain qualities. They’re friendly and enthusiastic, involved in their communities, enjoy working with families and students, and love the idea of traveling the world.

“Over the past 17 years, it has been so much fun seeing students come in and experience cultural exchange with their host families, and then seeing the paths their lives take after they go home! Successful businesspeople, doctors, lawyers, veterinarians...” Cecilia M. IEC | Aplington, Iowa
“I just have to say, EF is the most wonderful part-time job you could ask for. Where else can you get opportunities to meet interesting people, learn cultural differences—which never fail to make me laugh—and get to travel the world! Gelato, here I come.” Stacey P. Regional Coordinator | Riverton, Wyoming
A JOB YOU CAN BE PROUD OF As an IEC, you are the one who brings the life-changing experience of student exchange into your community. You open worlds, you create lasting relationships, you change lives, and you can earn as much as you put into it. Throughout the year, IECs have three main responsibilities: 6
finding perfect matches between host
helping and assisting students and
coordinating with schools and other
families and exchange students
families during the exchange year
organizations to help bring exchange
students into your community

REWARDS THAT’LL TAKE YOU PLACES We know that the IEC experience is rewarding in itself—you feel great pride in changing people’s lives, opening doors, and building relationships that span the globe. But for all that IECs do, you deserve more than just a pat on the back and the warm feeling of a job well done. By completing normal IEC responsibilities like matching students with families, supporting them during the year, and spreading the word about EF, IECs earn a whole package of benefits. Whether it’s earning cash rewards, free airfare to your dream destination, an IEC meeting in Rome, or the latest iPad, the rewards are our way of thanking you for all the amazing work you do. EF would not be the leader in high school exchange without the hard work of our IECs.
