Pres. Aquino's first 100 days message
At marami pong magandang balita ukol dito.

Breakthrough on bar blast probe
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said Monday that arrests are to be expected this week as the National Bureau of Investigation has made a major breakthrough in its investigation on the Sept. 26 post-Bar examinations explosion outside a Manila university. The grenade blast occurred outside the De La Salle University campus along Taft Avenue in Manila, during the traditional Salubong where well-wishers greet the law graduates who have just finished four successive weekends of the grueling Bar exams. At least 47 people were injured in the explosion. Jed Carlo Lazaga, a fourth year law student of the University of San Jose Recoletos Law School in Cebu province, was earlier accused as the one who allegedly threw the grenade. However, Lazaga denied the allegation and accused members of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity of mugging him on suspicion that he was responsible for the blast. —GMANews.TV

DOJ’s De Lima ‘embarrassed’ Lacson’s whereabouts still unknown
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima admitted that she is “embarrassed” that the National Bureau of Investigation has not yet tracked down fugitive Sen. Panfilo Lacson, who is charged for the double murder of publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in November 2000.At a news briefing, De Lima expressed dismay that Lacson’s whereabouts remain unknown even if the government has exhausted all means to locate Lacson and limit his movements. These include having the Department of Foreign Affairs cancel Lacson’s passports and placing the senator under the International Criminal Police Organization’s (Interpol) Red Notice.De Lima said it is possible that Lacson could just be hiding in the country. “The possibility that he’s inside the country cannot be ruled out,” she said. — GMANews.TV

25 dead in run-up to Philippines village polls: police
At least 25 people have been killed in violence related to upcoming village-level elections in the Philippines, the national police said Sunday. It came as police imposed tight security for Monday’s elections in which Filipinos will vote for district chairmen and council members in the nation’s 42,000 villages, said police spokesman Senior Superintendent Agrimero Cruz. Police records show 25 people had been killed and 10 wounded in election-related violence since the campaign period began on September 25, he told reporters. “We have been on full alert since Saturday night. We will be setting up security assistance desks in all voting centers to ensure honest, orderly and peaceful elections,” Cruz said. Yahoo News

Inamin ng actor na they have a special relationship sa loob ng 4 years, they have shared very happy moments together.
I can go back to (General Santos City). I can give this all up, huwag lang ‘yon.”

oyal jelly is a creamy white substance secreted from the salivary glands of worker bees to feed young bee larvae. The top five cancercausing foods The food we eat dictates the state of our wealth. Here are some ways to lower the risk of having cancer.
1. Hot Dogs.
Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you can’t live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.
2. Processed meats and Bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.
4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries.
5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.

Influenza (or flu) is
an infection of the lungs and airways causing a fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, headache, and muscle aches. Every year, in different countries in the world, widespread outbreaks of influenza occur during the flu season, which typically runs from lateNovember to March.
Flu Prevention Tips 1. Raw garlic. Garlic is one of the best natural remedies for flu prevention. It kills viruses responsible for colds and the flu. You can simply chew chive garlic and you even don't need to swallow it. 2. Drink plenty of fluids. Drinking plenty of water will keep you well hydrated. Proper hydration is essential for strong immune system and overall health. Water is the best, however water with lemon juice sweetened with honey, green tea, herbal tea, or fresh sugar-free juices are also

This is the hardest tip to implement, but if you are a smoker and want to protect yourself from the flu - break off your habit. 4. Fruits and vegetables. Remember to eat the recommended 5-9 servings per day of fruits and vegetables. Apples have anti-viral properties and are great preventive remedy against flu. 5. Hand washing. Human influenza viruses
The eyes, nose and mouth are entry ports for flu viruses. Rubbing your eyes, nose, or mouth is a sure-fire way to get the flu. 8. Keep surroundings clean. Keep surfaces like bedside tables, surfaces in the bathroom, kitchen counters and toys for children clean by wiping them down with a household disinfectant . 9. Room ventilation. Proper ventilation significantly reduces the concentration of pathogenic bacteria and viruses in the air. Opening windows is an easy and extremely effective natural ventilation technique. 10. Flu vaccination is always the best way to specifically prevent flu.
To protect your brain, avoid these 10 brain damaging habits 1. No Breakfast. People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration. 6. Sleep Deprivation. Sleep allows our brain to rest... Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.
2. Overeating. It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.
3. Smoking It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.
7. Head covered while sleeping. Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
4. High Sugar consumption. Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
8. Working your brain during illness. Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.
5. Air Pollution. The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our 20 body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.
9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts. Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.
10. Talking Rarely. Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.

PNoy 100 Days Continued from Page 2

Mike Tyson sued for US$25 mil. by paparazzi photographer A paparazzi photographer filed a $25 million lawsuit against Mike Tyson on Monday stemming from a scuffle with the boxer at LAX airport last year, RadarOnline.com reports. The incident took place on November 11, 2009. The photographer, Antonia Echevarria, filed his lawsuit at Los Angeles Superior Court. He claims he sustained several injuries and that the boxer told him, "I will kill you." Echevarria alleges Tyson went after him at LAX which resulted in injuries to his face, brain, spine, neck and other parts of his body. Tyson was traveling through LAX on his way to Las Vegas with his wife, mother-in-law, assistant and 10-monthold baby daughter when the incident occurred. At the time of the fight, Tyson and Echevarria placed each other under citizen's arrest and made complaints of misdemeanor battery. Tyson was taken into custody while Echevarria went to a local
hospital for treatment of a minor cut on his forehead. The ex-boxer's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, released a statement saying Tyson was aggressively followed by Echevarria who bumped into the stroller of Tyson's baby and disobeyed orders by airport personnel to leave the boxer alone. "Mr. Tyson and his family were without security and attempting to make a connecting flight when they were aggressively approached by a paparazzo intent on provoking and harassing them. The paparazzo repeatedly refused to comply with the orders and directives of airport personnel to leave the family alone and continued to aggressively pursue the Tyson family--at one point colliding with the baby's stroller," part of Holley's statement said. "Mr. Tyson remains confident that this matter will be appropriately addressed as the witnesses are interviewed and the facts borne out," she concluded.

On one condition, dapat torrid.”
Kris Aquino disclosed on Sunday that she introduced herself to an actress who is being romantically linked to her estranged husband, cager James Yap. It took place last week when they attended the wedding of actress Jenny Miller.“I went up to her after communion. I said, ‘Hi, I’m Kris. I know you’re Isabel. Sabi ko, ‘Finally at least you’ve met me.’ And she said, ‘Opo.’ ‘Yon na ‘yon,” the presidential sister said. She said she mentioned it to Yap when the professional basketball player visited their son, and the topic proved to be an “icebreaker.” She noted that “that icebreaker really helped both of us” because for the first time they were able to discuss their issues minus the usual rancor and shouting match. The 39-year-old actress also said she’s ready to fall in love again. “Ka-age bracket ko na [para] ito na, for real and for keeps.” — abscbnNEWS.com
ABS-CBN Laments Failure to Secure TRO Against Willie
In a rare move, ABS-CBN President and COO Charo Santos-Concio addressed the public via ‘’TV Patrol’’ and DZMM Oct. 22 to publicly air disappointment over the Quezon City Regional Trial Court’s failure to grant the network a Temporary Restraining Order against Willie Revillame and subsequent airing of his new TV5 show ‘’Willing Willie.’’ According to a resolution released Oct. 22 by Judge Luisito Cortez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 84, the network ‘’failed to discharge the burden of proving that there exists an urgent need for the issuance of a TRO to prevent great or irreparable injury that it might suffer.’’ — Manila Bulletin
‘Willing Willie’ premieres
Willie Revillame is back in the tube as an official “Kapatid” artist. Despite controversies and a staggering P486 million damage suit filed by ABS-CBN, “Willing Willie” premiered Saturday, October 23, as TV5’s flagship primetime variety program. The show promises to change the way Filipinos spend their primetime viewing. In a timeslot where news programs dominate, “Willing Willie” aims to provide a “positive” viewing experience where families can enjoy and bond together over dinner without the usual “negativity” of evening news. It airs Monday to Friday, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturdays, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. — Yahoo news

alloween originated 2000 years ago from a harvest festival from the Ancient Celts who celebrates the end of summer. The Celts believed that the transitional time before the dark winter was a time when the worlds of the living and dead comes together. During the era when the Romans conquered the Celts they contributed in joining two more festivals; Feralia, paying respects to the dead and Pomona, a day honoring the goddess of fruits and trees. As Christianity spread, Pope Boniface IV replaced the celebration with All Saints’ Day on November 1. This day of honoring saints was later followed by All Souls' Day, which honored the dead. All Saints' Day, still celebrated today, was known as All-hallowmas in medieval times. The night before the feast was called All Hallows' Even or, in an Irish contraction, Hallow E'en. It was the Europeans who introduce these customs to the Americans, this led to the Americanized Halloween that developed from many different cultures. It was celebrated with a festival of dancing, singing, fortune and story telling especially of ghost stories. The adaptation of the dressing costumes and giving treats such as goodies and candies came from the Irish and English early settlers. Now we have the parades and various celebrations. To avoid being played on tricks, the families began giving children "treats" and by the 1950s, Halloween had turned into a children's holiday.
How did the jack-o'-lantern came about
It was also the Irish who introduced to the world the carving of turnip lantern. These lanterns were left on the door step to ward off evil spirits. They believed that without the offering, the evil spirit might play some tricks to their fields and live stocks. When this tradition was brought to the USA, they substituted the turnip to a pumpkin since it is readily available in the states. They cut the head of the pumpkin, carved a monstrous face and place lighted
candle inside the pumpkin to reflect a scary illuminated face. It is for this reason that the carved pumpkin was called a jack-o'-lantern named after the phenomenon of strange light flickering over peat bogs.
Filipinos celebrate all souls day
Many of us Filipinos look forward to All Souls’ Day Celebration or Araw ng mga Patay mainly to visit our lost love ones and clean their graves, others would call it a family gathering since it is one of those days when the whole family is present while others would use the holiday to take a break from their busy lives. This is a busy day for the country. The police force help regulates and maintain the peace and order for the celebration. There were police who are dispatched to monitor the traffic around the cemetery, bus stations and sea ports. Since the people use this time to go back to their provinces and spend time with the rest of their families. It’s a festive event for some people who would prepare foods for the whole family. Some play cards and Majong, some would bring karaoke, and visit friends who are also in the vicinity. Looking back in my younger years we looked forward in visiting the cemetery aside from being with our relatives. Now that we are in Taiwan, we really miss those traditions, all we can do is to say a prayer for our departed loved ones.

Love does not envy
Third in the Series of 12 articles on the Qualities of Love.
nvy (Inggit) wants what somebody else has. It is resentful or unhappy feeling of wanting somebody else’s success, good fortune, qualities, or possession. It is Jealous, resentful, suspicious, and watchful. It is not kind, not sympathetic, not trusting, not helpful, not affirming, not favorable. In the story of a THE WINDOW by Eric Ferguson, he related about two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his room-mate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn’t hear the band - he could see it in his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Then unexpectedly, a sinister thought entered his mind. Why should the other man alone experience all the pleasures of seeing everything while he himself never got to see anything? It didn’t seem fair. At first thought the man felt ashamed. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and he found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - that thought, and only that thought now controlled his life. Late one night as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room he never, pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running in. In less than five minutes the coughing and choking stopped, along with that the sound of breathing. Now there was only silence - deathly silence. The following morning the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take it away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to
make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall! The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you." In the book, Landmines in the Path of the Believer: Avoiding the Hidden Dangers by Charles F. Stanley, He said…“When we use the word “jealous,” we use it in a sense of being envious of someone who has something we do not have. This kind of jealousy is a sin and is not characteristic of love; rather, it shows that we are still being controlled by our own desires (1 Corinthians 3:3). The Bible in the book to the Galatians 5:26 says, “Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” The more we focus on ourselves and our own desires, the less we are able to focus on God. When we harden our hearts to the truth, we cannot turn to Jesus and allow Him to heal us (Matthew 13:15). But when we allow the Holy Spirit to control us, He will produce in us the fruit of our salvation, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Being jealous indicates that we are not satisfied with what God has given us. The Bible tells us to be content with what we have, for God will never fail or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). In order to combat jealousy, we need to become more like Jesus and less like ourselves. We can get to know Him through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with mature believers. As we learn how to serve others instead of ourselves, our hearts will begin to change. The Apostle Paul says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2). Dwight L. Moody once told the fable of an eagle that was envious of another that could fly better than he could. One day the bird saw a sportsman with a bow and arrow and said to him, "I wish you would bring down that eagle up there." The man said he would if he had some feathers for his arrow. So the jealous eagle pulled one out of his wing. The arrow was shot, but it didn't quite reach the rival bird because he was flying too high. The first eagle pulled out another feather, then another--until he had lost so many that he himself couldn't fly. The archer took advantage of the situation, turned around, and killed the helpless bird. Moody made this application: if you are envious of others, the one you will hurt the most by your actions will be yourself. ----------------------------------------------------If you have questions about the article or if you need counseling and prayer, call bro. Values Re-Orientation and Financial Literacy Forum Brought by DOLE, OWWA and MECO and sponsored by Pag-IBIG Fund and SSS The seminar last October 10, 2010 was the general introduction for all the last batch of skills training programs for the year 2010 at the Ugnayan Migrants and Immigrant Center at Taipei entitled - "Values ReOrientation and Financial Literacy Forum". It was organized and delivered by the Department of Labor and Employment and its attached agency - Overseas Workers' Welfare Administration, together with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office. And it was sponsored by the Pag-IBIG Fund and the Social Security System. Land Bank of the Philippines already provided moral support. The primary purpose of the undertaking is to ensure that our various training programs are appreciated by the students in the proper perspective and context, so that the students who are expected to graduate at the end of this year would know how to properly use their training to advance their prospect for a better life. Better life, in our philosophy does not only mean earning and securing more income. More profoundly, it should mean being right with our Maker, with ourselves, with our families, and with the society that we live in. Of course, developing such relationships should lead to more productive life as the learner could use the principles in the various practical decision-making functions in life, including managing their jobs, saving, engaging in entrepreneurial activities and investing. The lecture provided an identification of key tools that should guide our lives and key questions that could help the students evaluate their lives and re-order them, should changes be necessary. After the program, all the training programs at Ugnayan, including the Tulay Computer training Program with Microsoft and Ople Foundation, the Computer repair and maintenance course, the Food Processing, the Baking, the Women's Accessories-making and Dress-making, and the Bar-tending course shall simultaneously start next Sunday, 17 October 2010 and will run until November.
Among the speakers are: LABAT Conferido, Welfare Officer Jose Capa, Micael p. Alvarez of Landbank and Lersa Li of Pag-IBIG.
