Of course, the pall of a pandemic casts a heavy cloud across the globe. However — and here’s the really important part — the Edwards School of Business community has superbly risen to the challenges. We have adapted to the new environment. We have pivoted to remote delivery of our curriculum. We continue to engage with our students in new and exciting ways. And we maintain our Saskatchewan values of hard work, authenticity, and perseverance. I am honoured to be considered your friend and fellow Dean’s Circle member! “Nikanitan Manacihitowinihk” (“let us lead with respect”).

Keith A. Willoughby, Ph.D. Dean and Dean’s Circle Member

Student Impact “Not-for-profit has always been a sector that I did not understand. After going to the ANPA case competition, I have a new appreciation for NFP’s and what they do. I was able to meet like-minded students from across the country and make some strong connections.” Brayden Caron Received funding to attend the Alberta Not-for-Profit Case Competition

“I learned more about my AIESEC VP role while expanding my network. I also got the chance to welcome speakers from RBC and Smith School of business, who gave priceless speeches about business, personal branding, critical thinking skills, and the RBC Future Launch program.” Chad Nguyen Received funding to attend the AIESEC National Strategic Direction Conference (NSDC - Winnipeg)

“Without this funding, attending conferences like this would be unattainable due to the financial requirement which is out of reach for many business students like myself. I am incredibly grateful as it has been pivotal to making my time at the Edwards School of Business memorable and the best learning experience it could be.” Kaitlyn Robin Received funding to attend the John Molson Sports Marketing Conference in Montreal

“Dean’s Circle funding provided me with opportunities to extend my learning beyond the classroom, meet like-minded individuals from different parts of the world, and step outside of my comfort zone. The conference speakers strengthened my belief in not only the importance of education but also participating in co-curricular activities.” Ryssa Alarcon Received funding to attend the John Molson Sports Marketing Conference in Montreal

“With help from extremely generous donors, I was able to focus less on financial problems and more on my studies and enjoying university. The scholarships helped take financial stress off my parents and I. It gave me a sense of pride and accomplishment when I was awarded two Dean’s Circle awards last year. I felt like all my hard work was being recognized and it gave me an extra push to continue striving for success.” Abby Sittler

“Being the recipient of two Edwards Dean’s Circle of Honour Scholarships has been an absolute privilege. It allowed me to focus on my academics without having to worry about the financial burden of university. Dear Dean’s Circle members, The financial support that you have offered me has allowed me to gain so much from my time at the Edwards School of Business. I am excited to be returning to school after having spent eight months completing my co-op work placement with an international accounting firm. After a workplace accident during my co-op term, I am now entering my tenth month of rehabilitation. The scholarships I have received have helped me reallocate time from my three part-time jobs back towards being a full-time student and towards my recovery. Your financial aid also allows me the time to continue my involvement with Enactus-University of Saskatchewan as their new Vice-President of Corporate Relations. The support that you have given me through these scholarships helps me to focus the important things like my education and health.” Rebecca Keindel (no photo available)
