Syllabus of Karnataka Board Syllabus of Karnataka Board This unit is designed for taking karnataka board Syllabus into consideration. In Karnataka board class VII, we study about Number system. Numbers are the basic units used for calculations. They are the basic need for our life to live in. We cannot imagine our life run without numbers. Let us first talk about natural numbers. The numbers which are used as counting numbers are called natural numbers. As we know we start our counting with 1 , 2 , 3 , ‌. And it goes endlessly up to infinite. Every natural number has a successor and a predecessor. We say that as 1 is the smallest natural number so number one (1) does not have any predecessor. Now we talk about whole numbers. The numbers 0 along with all natural numbers are called whole numbers. So the set of whole numbers include 0, 1, 2 , ‌ .. up to infinite. We say that the whole numbers are the measuring numbers, which we use to measure different units like length, capacity, speed or any other thing. Thus we can say that the whole numbers are the measuring numbers. Every whole number has a successor and the predecessor, except zero ( 0) which does not have a predecessor, as it is the smallest whole number. Know More About :- Economics Text Books of Cbse Board

Now we look at the integers. Integers are the numbers which include a positive numbers, negative numbers and zero. We say that the integers are uncountable and endless. Every positive integer has its inverse as the negative number and every negative number has its inverse as a positive number. If we add a positive number and its inverse, then we get the result as 0. So we call it as additive identity. Let us try it with an example: let the number be 6, its inverse is -6. So when we add 6 and -6, we get 6 + (-6) = 0. Here we say that every integer has its successor and every integer has its predecessor. To find the successor of any number, we need to add 1 to the given number and to get the predecessor of any integer; we simply need to subtract 1 from the given number. All the numbers, natural numbers, whole numbers and the integers can be represented on the number line. When we draw a number line we say that the number zero (0 ) exist in the centre of the number line. Also we must remember that all the positive numbers lie on the right hand side of the number line and the entire negative numbers lie on the left hand side of the number line. As we move towards the right side of the number line, the number goes on increasing and as we go towards left side of the number line, the numbers goes on decreasing, so we conclude that when we need to compare any two numbers, we simply locate them on the number line and then check, if the number appears on the left side of the line is smaller and the number which appears on the right side of the line is greater. In this way the comparison of numbers becomes easy. The Karnataka secondary education board was formed under the permission of government of Karnataka and vested with certain duties and powers that aims to identifying the factor that can improve the policy of education system.
