make choices about the future. Teenagers often don’t end up doing what they truly want in their lives, our project makes it clear that we want to be able to make our own choices that can lead to greatness. This work is connected to the novel “Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer about Chris McCandless who decided to go on an adventure to Alaska and leave his family behind in order to follow his dreams. He chose to live off the land and not to follow society’s expectations of searching for material fulfillment and an average job. Our project was also influenced by the idea of a human body making a mark and becoming one with nature in Ana Mendieta’s art piece “Untitled from the Silueta Series”.
