Why I would like to be prevention officer and why I think I would be good for the role: •

I successfully ran the first smile project in Leedsin 2010 and it was both great fun and provided a good foundation on which to progress the project further

I am really committed to the Smile Project and feel I have the experience from running my own pilot project in Leedsto guide others in how best to run their projects in their own dental schools

I can be on hand on skype to advise the delegates, wherever they are in Europe

I have a good relationship with the p and g representative as I have been talking to them for over a year now and was assigned as the liaison between P and Gand EDSA.

I also secured the platinum partnership between EDSAand P and Gwhich not only supports and helps EDSAgenerally but also means that the smile project is financially secure for the foreseeable future.

I have experience with organising projects on a large scale for example the recent conference in Leeds

I have been prevention officer for the last 6 months and in that time I have produced many PowerPoint presentations to advertise the project and also a guidebook on how to run the smile project in schools all across Europe – this guidebook will prove very valuable in the future I think to assist delegates in their efforts.

I have ideas and visions for the future of the smile project with regard to research potential and various questionnaires which can be developed

I am really gutted not to be present at the Turkish conference but that does not mean I have any less dedication to being the prevention officer and would love to continue my role so I would really appreciate everyones’ support in this and feel that I can really do the job well.
