Children’s Class Descriptions Grades refer to grade in the fall. ALL THINGS SUMMER Artists will create a variety of summer inspired projects including flip flops on the beach, melting ice cream cones, and bubbles. We will use a variety of materials. Aug 4 ANIMALS AT NIGHT Artists will create a painting of night animals enjoying the stars and moon. We will use acrylic and watercolor paint on canvas and paper. July 14

ART STUDIO WITH GARY Study with Gary Lennon in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment. Students may use the medium (pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, oils, acrylics, etc.) and subject matter of their choice. With one-on-one instruction techniques, students rise to new levels of artistic skills. Please bring project ideas the first session. This class is for students who have completed Basic Art with Gary. June 18-22, July 23-27 BEETLE MANIA So many beetles – so little time! Artist will be making beetles to display using paper, paints and wire. These little guys are so fun to create and display! June 25 BEGINNING ART WITH GARY Study the art basics. Learn the essentials of line, shape, form, color, value and perspective. This class provides the basics necessary to develop an artistically strengthened mind. June 4-8, July 9-13, Aug. 6-10 BUILD IT TINKER LAB-IDEA FACTORY This class is a hands on experience geared for artist that love to build, tinker and create. We will be using wood , glue and paint to construct an imaginary city. June 21-22 BUILD IT TINKER LAB- SHIPS This class is a hands on experience geared for artist that love to build, tinker and create. We will be using wood , glue and paint to construct an imaginary ship. July 23-24 BUTTERFLY WINGS Artist will be using all colors on the color wheel to create incredible butterflies that will come alive. Watercolors and markers will be the main focus of this class. June 26 CARTOONING Class includes a brief history of cartoons and a variety of cartoon formats and topics. Come create your own cartoon in panel or comic book formats. Ponder and produce

story boards and practice writing captions and text. June 14

CLAY WITH THE MASTERS Artists will create clay projects inspired by masters like Van Gogh, Monet, Degas, Picasso and Matisse. Each class will focus on a different artist/ style. June 14: Van Gogh We will make a Starry Night tile and vase with Sunflowers. June 23: Monet We will make water lilies and poppy field plates. July 12: Picasso We will make clay faces and blue guitars. July 14: Degas We will make Ballerina figures and horse jockeys. August 4: Matisse We will make clay name collages and clay cut out fish bowls. DISNEY DESCENDANTS WORKSHOP Are you a Mal, Evie, Jay, or Carlos? Travel to Auradon Prep and become one of the children from The Isle of the Lost. Throughout the week we'll create and work with movie-like props and learn a routine based on Disney's Descendants. Join in and see if you are you rotten to the core. July 9 DOLLHOUSE CAMP This is going to be FUN! Join us as we make everything imaginable for your very own dollhouse to take home. We will be painting walls, putting up wallpaper, creating art for the walls, making furniture and dolls and so much more! You don’t want to miss this totally creative experience! June 5-9 DRAWING FROM FARM LIFE Come enjoy my small farm with horses, ponies, goats, bunnies and dogs! Explore the farm and create many works of art while learning to draw in multimedia. (parents and grandparents are welcome to enroll) Bring a chair, sketch book, water/drink and pencil. Other supplies provided. June 11

June 11 KEITH HARING POSTERS AND BANNERS Artists will create posters and banners inspired by the works of Keith Haring. June 13 CLAY FOR KIDS Learn the "fun"damentals of creating in clay. Learn new clay techniques and the fun of glazing. Learn hand building, slab construction, coiling and sculpture. Take your pottery art to the next level. This is a great class for all levels of experience.3 week sessions: May 31, June 7, 14 June 21, 28, July 5 July 12, 19, 26 Aug 2, 9, 16 LITTLE ARTISTS Your child will be encouraged to think and work creatively while learning basic art skills. Little Artists will explore a variety of artists, mediums and art techniques in this fun class. We will work on developing fine motor skills and pairing those with their imaginations. Mixing colors, tissue paper, printmaking, painting, pastels, drawing, scissors and other tools will be used as they develop into “Little Artists”. No project will be repeated, class can be taken more than once. June 7,14,21,28 July 5,12,19,26 August 2,9 MAGICAL JOURNEYS Your child will love listening to a new story and bringing it to life each week! In the theatre room, we will use rhythm instruments, our voices, and simple props to retell a story. Afterward, in the art classroom, we will use anything from paint to bubble wrap to egg cartons as we create colorful masterpieces your little one will use to retell our story at home! We invite your child to take a magical journey with us on Mondays! June 11, July 9, Aug 6

IMPROV THEATRE How quickly can you think on your feet? In this class we will learn

MAGICAL MERMAIDS! Come create summertime3 splashy fun in this magical mermaid art workshops. Students will create mermaid themed artwork inspired by the sea! Projects will include a mermaid doll, and lots of glitter! June 16 MERMAID SKIRTS Artist will make a creative mermaid collage using coffee filters paper and paints. July 30 OKLAHOMA SUNSET Artists will create a painting using acrylic paint on canvas of a spectacular Oklahoma sunset. June 12 PET PORTRAITS Artists will create a portrait of their favorite pet/ animal using pencil, pastel, and paint. July 10 PLASTER MASKS Artists will create a mask using plaster, paint, feathers, and sequins. July 9-10. PASTEL DRAWING WITH GARY Explore the use of pastels with Gary. Learn different techniques; experiment with color and blending as you create wonderful pastel pictures. June 11-15, July 30-Aug 3. RAINBOW TROUT Artist will be inspired by the incredible colors of these funky fish as they draw and paint a stream full. You definitely want to catch this class! June 27 SCALLYWAGS AND SEA SERPENTS Pirates are the theme of this fantastical beast workshop. Students will create treasure maps, pirate hats, and much more in this whimsical workshop on the sea. July 28 SELF PORTRAITS Artists will use mirrors and photos to create a self portrait using pencil, pastels, and water color. July 9 SHRINK IT AQUARIUMS Artist will have so much fun experimenting with shrink plastic as

we draw and construct our own aquarium. Shrink plastic, markers and colored pencils will be used to create our pieces. July 10-11 SKYSCRAPER SCULPTURES Artist will have the opportunity to make and paint there own skyscraper that can be display just about anywhere! Paper, tape and paint will be used to create these one of a kind skycrapers. July 31 STAGE MAKEUP In this class, we will use the art of stage makeup to create a plethora of characters. We will explore basic stage makeup, old age, character makeup and more for guys and girls to create an array of characters fit for the stage. Join us on the technical side of theatre as we look more into stage makeup. th June 25 or July 16th

SUPERHERO ADVENTURES If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Join Mr. Brent and create your own superhero character and design a superhero mask. Students will get a taste of what its like to fly under the cape of their very own superhero. Whether your child has a favorite or wants to become their own superhero we will join in the world of comic book characters and the life of an everyday superhero. June 21 TEEN BEACH MOVIE WORKSHOP Is this the best summer ever? Become a part of the cast of Wet Side Story and join their 60's tropical paradise. Whether you're a surfer or a biker join in the on the beach side fun as we create and work with life like movie props and learn a totally tubular dance combination based on routines from Teen Beach Movie. July 18, 19, 20

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN WORKSHOP Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've waited for... The Greatest Showman at FAI. If you're

a fan of the The Greatest Showman you'll enjoy this workshop. Within this workshop we'll create props and perform a routine based on the movie. Whether you're a novice or a dancing machine you'll enjoy your time under the big top with The Greatest Showman. June 26, 27, 28 TOTEM POLES- HOW THE RAVEN STOLE THE SUN Artists will create their own totem pole inspired by the Native American Legend of the Raven. We use pencil and pen and ink. July 11 UNDER THE SEA Artists will create an underwater scene of colorful corral reefs and sea creatures. We will use paint, oil pastels, and some collage. June 23 UNICORN EXPLORATIONS Join in the whimsical land of magic and imagination as we delve into the world of unicorns. Within this class we'll create unicorn costume accessories as well as learn acting techniques that embodies a unicorn. June 12

UNICORN MAGIC Artist will draw, foil and color his or her own unicorn to create a magical creature. Of course there will be plenty of sparkle to go around in the class! August 1 WATERCOLOR WITH GARY Kids here is your chance to study the wonderful world of watercolors with Gary Lennon. Explore watercolor painting from basic color and design concepts to techniques unique to the medium. June 25-29, Aug. 13-16

WEAVE A RAINBOW Each artist will learn the basics of weaving to create a amazing rainbow work of art! June 18 WILD CATS Artists will create mixed media paintings of different wild cats. June 13

ART STUDIO WITH GARY In this class, specific brush stroke techniques, color combinations and use of materials will be taught for the beginning, intermediate and advanced student. Using encouraging, one-on-one instruction techniques, Gary will emphasize the study of subject, preparation and transference to watercolor paper. Techniques for still life, landscape and portraiture will be offered and students will advance to higher levels of skill as the course continues. Supply list is available online. POTTER'S WHEELS BASIC CERAMICS/STUDIO TIME WITH TIM

Learn the fundamentals of working with clay and glazes. Be introduced to wheel throwing, hand building & mold pouring through instructor demonstrations and one on one instruction. Learn advanced decoration techniques. Experiment with carving, template design transfer, wax resist, glazelayering, spray on glazing and painting with glaze. Combine beautiful form with everyday functionality. Finished pieces are food safe, oven safe, microwave safe & dishwasher safe. Already have experience with clay? Come in for some studio time with Tim to sharpen those skills.

JEWELRY SUMMER SHELL NECKLACE/BRACELET/EARRINGS

Students will use colored Mussel Shells to create matching dangle necklace, earrings and bracelet. You will learn how to use open rings, design placement and have your choice of colors.
