Ages 3-6 Your child will be encouraged to think and work creatively while learning basic art skills. Little artists will explore a variety of artists, mediums and art techniques in this fun class. We will work on developing fine motor skills and pairing those with their imaginations. Mixing colors, tissue paper, printmaking, painting, pastels, drawing, scissors and other tools will be used as they develop into “Little Artists”.

Ages 3-5 Your child will love listening to a new story and bringing it to life each week! In the theatre, we will use rhythm instruments, our voices, and simple props to retell a story. Afterward, in the art classroom, we will use anything from paint to bubble wrap to egg cartons as we create colorful masterpieces that your little one will use to retell our story at home! We invite your child to take a magical journey with us on Fridays this fall!

Classes include drawing with graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, pastel, watercolors, acrylics, mixed medium, clay, wire, print medium and handmade paper. Advanced students will be encouraged to build on their desired medium and work more independently with the teacher acting as more of a mentor and facilitator. New and intermediate students will watch demonstrations and have instruction with specific goals for learning the basics of composition and design within each discipline. This class will foster a wellrounded familiarity in the different disciplines offered. “Process learning“ will be promoted in this class with the hope of students desiring to work freely and happily toward producing works of art they are proud of. Mimi’s goal is each student trying and learning new skills and having fun with art experimentation. You will learn about Oklahoma, American and world artists, past and present, who have worked in the various mediums we study. Students are required to bring to class a PORTFOLIO in which to store their art. They need a small sketchbook, with a zip lock bag containing a pencil, sharpener and eraser. th
