LITTLE ARTISTS

ART SPARK

Ages 3-6 Your child will be encouraged to think and work creatively while learning basic art skills. Little artists will explore a variety of artists, mediums and art techniques in this fun class. We will work on developing fine motor skills and pairing those with their imaginations. Mixing colors, tissue paper, printmaking, painting, pastels, drawing, scissors and other tools will be used as they develop into “Little Artists�.

Ages 3-6 Each little artist will have the opportunity to explore a variety of art experiences that will spark their imagination and creativity. Each project and activity is geared to help each little artist grow in their confidence and creative thinking. We will be using paints, crayons, markers along with natural materials to help guide in creative art making. This is such a great class to begin any art journey. Thursdays: 10:00-10:45

AFTERSCHOOL ART WITH MIMI Ages 7-15 This year long class is a unique art program designed to engage and educate homeschool children in the creative process. The classes are comprised of the elements and principles of design, building student’s visual vocabulary and critical thinking skills, while creating original art. Students will explore art history, art appreciation, and a variety of art techniques over the course of the year including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media and more. Students love learning the expressive and technical aspects of art as they create art tailored to their individual skill levels. A detailed outline of the course and supply list is available online. MIXED MEDIA MASTERPIECES

Come explore the universe using paints, pens, pastels and lots of color! We will be creating incredible artworks while being inspired by space, planets, stars and galaxies. The only thing required in this class is a creative and adventurous spirit. Fall I only.

Students will create masterpieces in a variety of media based on a different theme each week. Themes will include the changing fall landscape, colorful cartoon characters, and master artists. Come create mixed media magic with us!

Ages 7 & UP Its all about the season as we explore nature around us. While we combine paints and pastels along with natural materials, we will create some amazing artwork that will be sure to impress. Leaf mobiles, watercolor paintings, foil relief and neon pumpkins will all be on this class’s to do list. Fall II only.

KIDS CLAY WHEEL Ages 7 & UP

In this new "hands-on" clay class, students will learn the basics of working on the pottery wheel. Class size is limited to 6 to insure one on one instruction. Explore creating bowls, cups, and a variety of other objects. Instructor: Tim Haller

BASIC CERAMICS Ages 7 & UP Learn the “fun”damentals of creating in clay. Learn new clay techniques and the fun of glazing. Learn hand building, slab construction, coiling and sculpture. Take your pottery art to the next level. This is a great class for all levels of experience.

INTRO TO THEATRE (Beginner and Intermediate students) In this class, students will be introduced to the basic concepts of theatre arts. Students will use various creative drama techniques to build confidence and trust, stimulate imagination, movement, and role-play. Through theatre games and activities students will learn to lose inhibitions and will gain trust in themselves as well as others in their groups. Students will learn and use drama and theatre vocabulary in class discussions! ADVANCED ACTING (Students who have had 1yr of study) In this class, students will continue their study of basic theatre concepts and begin to refine their presentational skills. Students will use various creative drama techniques to build ensemble, stimulate imagination, movement, and role-play with an emphasis on believability! Students will be taught to direct their focus, intent, and motivation to create and sustain a character. Students will address plot, setting, and character in monologues and scene work from various plays and musicals. Students will use observation and emotional memory to reveal thoughts and feelings and to build believable characters and situations. Students will learn and use drama and theatre vocabulary in class discussions! Students will exhibit and reinforce their skills through individual and group presentations and performances while in class! LEARN TO SEW-APRONS (Ages 9 and up with adult for supervision for any under 13.)

Artists will create an apron using a pattern. Hand stitching and machine sewing will be used to complete the apron. Everyone will also go home with a copy of the pattern used in class. Perfect how those wanting to learn how to use a pattern and sewing machine.

7years & up Halloween Clay: Artists will create several Halloween themed projects including a black cat cell phone holder and orange jack o lantern. Projects will be glazed and ready for pick up in time for Halloween.

MONSTERS vs ALIENS 7years & up

4TH grade & up

Class includes a brief history of cartoons and a variety of cartoon formats and topics. Come create your own cartoon in panel or comic book formats. DRAWING ATTENTION Study drawing with Gary Lennon in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment. The beginner, intermediate or advanced artist will benefit from this class by learning to see. Learn the basics of drawing (line, form, shading, perspective and composition), from materials to technique while growing skills.
