Horses Sell Saturday & Sunday • Beginning 9 am - both days For Catalogs or Entry Forms, Contact W hen Fred Kist Sr. leased the Morton County Fairgrounds in 1942 to begin a tiny
livestock auction, he probably had no idea it would grow to become a sprawling, modernized business that currently employs some 40 people. The livestock business was located in South Mandan until 1956, when it relocated, moving to "The Strip" on Memorial Highway in Eastern Mandan. The pavillion was officially opened 50 years ago. Today, Kist Livestock is one of the largest auction facilities in North Dakota. n 2006, Kist Livestock Auction was awarded "The Granite Award", for being a cornerstone of the Mandan and regional economy since 1942. Every Spring and Fall the Hermanson-Kist Horse Sales, held at Kist Livestock, attract buyers & sellers from all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. These sales always feature a good selection of broke and well-started horses, stallions, Foundation bred foals, and lots of color! Last year the Hermanson-Kist Horse Sale celebrated 27 years of bringing together sellers & buyers. Buyers come because the sale has a reputation for having a large number of horses & colts with good Foundation Bloodlines! Sellers choose Hermanson-Kist because the sales are well established with many buyers in attendance, and because Dave Hermanson has ver 30 years experience selling horses, and superior knowledge that only a lifetime of raising horses can produce! The chances of getting a higher price is better in Mandan!
