O conselho popular, entretanto, não serviu para Fernanda Feitosa, colecionadora de artes moderna e contemporânea que há exatos dez anos fundou a feira SP-Arte. Com a casa repleta de obras – foi preciso, inclusive, construir um anexo para acomodá-las –, ela e o marido, Heitor Martins, viram o meio artístico tomar conta de praticamente todas as esferas de suas vidas. Sem reclamações. A 11ª edição do evento está prestes a movimentar a capital paulista mais uma vez: ocupa, entre 9 e 12 de abril, os três andares do Pavilhão da Bienal, no Parque Ibirapuera, reunindo 141 galerias de 17 países. Nesse período, a vida de Fernanda é uma sequência de encontros, vernissages e brunchs para receber os muitos estrangeiros que aportam na cidade e garantir que a feira – a maior e mais importante do gênero na América Latina – se desenrole da melhor maneira possível, gerando bons negócios e relacionamentos. "Este ano teremos o recorde de colecionadores do exterior e curadores de peso, como Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev [norte-americana responsável pela mais recente edição da Documenta de Kassel]", antecipa, preparando-se para a maratona.

ome say you should not mix business with pleasure. This popular adage did not hold for Fernanda Feitosa, a collector of modern and contemporary art who founded the SP-Arte fair exactly ten years ago. With a house full of artworks (an extension even had to be built to accommodate them), she and her husband, Heitor Martins, watched the art world take over almost every aspect of their lives. No complaints. The 11th edition of the event is about to animate the city of São Paulo once more. From the 9th to the 12th of April the event will occupy all three floors of the Pavilhão da Bienal, in the Ibirapuera Park, bringing together 141 galleries from 17 countries. During this period, Fernanda’s life is a sequence of meetings, openings, and brunches to host the many foreigners who come to town and to make sure that the fair – the biggest and most important of its kind in Latin America –runs like clockwork, generating good business and relationships. "This year we have a record number of foreign collectors and important curators, like Carolyn ChristovBakargiev [the American responsible for the last edition of the Documenta Kassel]", she anticipates, in preparation for the marathon.
