Materials needed: Track 3, Audio CD Script, p. 39D Reproducible document: Activity 2, p. 2-7

This activity allows students to gather ideas on how to share their thoughts about preferences. It focuses on what they felt during the transition from elementary school to secondary school. 1. Tell students to look at the pictures and read the short preferences expressed by each character. Tell them that on the CD, they will hear more information than they have in their book. 2. and 3. First listen: Ask students to listen carefully in order to find out who is talking. 4. Second listen: Ask them to say what each character prefers or misses. On the blackboard, make two columns (what is missed, what is preferred) and write the students’ answers. 5. Prompt students to think about what they prefer or what they miss. Ask them to tell the class using the Talk About It! section at the bottom of the page. Use the same table on the blackboard to keep track of their answers.

Le corrigé des activités est réservé aux enseignants et n'est pas visible sur le feuilleteur.

Pay Attention To Before the students listen to the CD, tell them that the characters’ preferences will not be played in the same order as the ones printed in the book. That is why they have to find out who is talking.
