Piano * The work requires prepared piano. 10 ± ping pong balls should placed inside the piano and above the mute in the lower section, 10 ± should be placed in the middle section (middle C) and 5± balls should be placed in the higher section.

accidentals remain for the whole bar unless indicated. Repeat pattern continuously as fast as possible.

When the third stave is added leave the pattern to play the notes with the right hand and return immediately after – each time play the pattern from the start.

Gradually release or depress pedal.

Third and octave cluster – black and white keys. Play the octave cluster with the palm.

* E.C : Elbow Cluster and glissando. Play with an open hand, begin with the elbow and end with the hand. “Sequential pressing” using the forearm – all the notes must not be heard simultaneously. The forearm – from elbow to fingertips – covers about 3 octaves and must be placed between black and white keys when a sharp and a flat is indicated above the glissando (only sharp or natural – black and white respectively). Downwards or upwards with the right or left hand respectively. There must be a continuous flow to the movement in order to have a smooth and equal glissando. The pitch of the “elbow note” (white dotted notehead) is indicated approximately as also the ending note (x mark). Practice this technique many times until you get a smooth, fast glissando.

Strings
