FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK: YEAR END CELEBRATIONS As the 2014-2015 school year winds to a close, we have been recognizing the hard work and talents of various members of the Edison community – our talented and dedicated teachers and classified school st staff and our wonderful parent volunteers. On June 1 , we’re taking a moment to celebrate our great students and the progress they’ve made this year. On Edison’s Dia del Estudiante, students are invited to wear Crazy Hairstyles and come dressed in Edison Spiritwear. We’re also soliciting parent volunteers to come and help teach traditional Latin American childhood and playground games during the students’ physical education classes. See Juanita Devis if you are cleared as a volunteer and want to come help. Edison students have worked hard this year and grown tremendously in two languages. We love watching them grow and move further along on their path to becoming bilingual/bicultural world citizens. Thank you parents, for sharing such a special group of children with us! We also congratulate those children and families who have demonstrated stellar attendance and on-time arrivals this year. As of May 15, six children managed to have perfect attendance this year – no missed days of school and no late arrivals! CONGRATULATIONS TO: Estevan Villaseseñor, Jonathan Granados Garcia, Anthony Garcia Martinez, Sebastian Mungia Mullins, Henry Hernandez, and Daniel Garcia. We also want to commend the following students who (as of May 11) were never late to school and only missed due to excused illnesses: Jasmine Arana, Jaime Cruz, Lesly De Pablo, Keilyn Esquivel, Luc Garland-Di Stefano, Jasmine Gonzalez, Kaley Jigamian, Nathaly Juarez Meza, William Kjenner-Love, Carmen Lopez, Yadira Lopez, Sergio Marcial, Mia Melendez, Mia Perez, Valentino Posadas, Celeste Radusky, Samantha Ramirez, Crystal Ramos, Emily Umana and Maya Williams.Well done! At the end of each year, we also welcome back our immersion graduating seniors and their families. This special immersion graduation is held here at Edison and gives us a chance to reconnect and reminisce with these young adults who were so dear to us as children, to applaud their perseverance, and hear where they are headed next. This truly is the day when it is so clear that we are 3 Schools, 2 Languages, and 1 Program! Teachers from all three schools attend as we celebrate the students’ very unique immersion education. All are welcome on Saturday, May 30 at 1:30 pm. in the Edison cafeteria. May 25 – Memorial Day No classes

¡FELICIDADES A: Estevan Villaseñor, Jonathan Granados García, Anthony García Martinez, Sebastián Munguía Mullins, Henry Hernandez, y Daniel García. También queremos reconocer a los siguientes estudiantes quienes (a partir del 11 de mayo) nunca llegaron tarde a la escuela y solamente faltaron por enfermedad justificada: Jasmine Arana, Jaime Cruz, Lesly De Pablo, Keilyn Esquivel, Luc Garland-Di Stefano, Jasmine Gonzalez, Kaley Jigamian, Nathaly Juarez Meza, William Kjenner-Love, Carmen Lopez, Yadira Lopez, Sergio Marcial, Mia Melendez, Mia Perez, Valentino Posadas, Celeste Radusky, Samantha Ramirez, Crystal Ramos, Emily Umana y Maya Williams. ¡Bien Hecho!
