Edinboro University of Pennsylvania Edinboro University is one of 14 comprehensive universities within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. It is located in Edinboro, Pennsylvania (pop. 6,900) and has a total enrollment of 7,686 undergraduate and graduate students. Edinboro was founded in 1857. The University is only 18 miles from Erie and within 100 miles of the educational and major population centers of Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. There are 43 buildings on a spacious 585-acre campus which includes a five-acre lake, open fields and woods, and a modern seven-story library. Language and Culture Program Edinboro University offers English enrichment instruction and a cultural immersion program, coupled with opportunities for seasonal recreational activities, sight-seeing, and introduction to American culture. Please be aware that this is not an intensive English program for students who wish only to study English, and without already having a basic foundation/usage of the language upon enrollment. The program provides students with 20 hours per week of English enrichment instruction, meals and residence hall accommodations, can range from 3 to 6 weeks, and is open to individuals and groups from secondary school to university and beyond! If 10 or more students from any one school attend the Language and Culture Program, an adult chaperone may accompany at no additional cost. The adult chaperone will receive free room and board, as well as complimentary participation in the planned excursion events. Program participants will reside in a University residence hall and be provided meals in Van Houten Dining Hall, also located on the Edinboro campus. Instruction in English language, listening comprehension, reading, grammar and writing will be provided in a classroom setting each weekday. A computer laboratory is available to students to practice their oral and aural skills along with having accessibility to the internet. Students will have access to the University's extensive resources and facilities. This program would be especially beneficial to middle school, high school, and university students, as well as their teachers who are interested in improving their English language skills and want to experience life on a college campus.

Student Life Edinboro University is alive with a wide variety of activities, events and facilities for every student. The Frank G. Pogue Student Center has recently undergone a $23 million facelift and now includes a cyber cafĂŠ, movie theatre, fitness center, indoor track, basketball courts, handball and racquetball courts, aerobics room, climbing wall, a food court, and more. Edinboro University has a long-standing tradition of hosting an annual world-class performing arts series featuring some of the most extraordinary and renowned musicians and performers. The Edinboro Fighting Scots participate in 15 intercollegiate sports in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), and provide exciting competition on campus throughout the academic year. The Center for Outdoor Recreation offers student programs in camping, canoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, kayaking, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting.

Dining facilities include food courts, cafes and restaurants â€“ both on and off campus in the nearby resort community of Edinboro, Pennsylvania. Excellent fitness facilities, a new music building and newly renovated auditorium, one of the largest libraries in the area, and an on-campus health center help to round out the complete university experience. Edinboro University ranks among the top 10 universities in the nation to provide services to those with disabilities.
