107th Primary school “Khan Krum” Sofia, Bulgaria

First activities

The first activities of the current project "Think and create your own hobby" began in our school with the beginning of the school year 2020-2021. We introduced the community, students, teachers, parents to this project. Then the students with great enthusiasm made a corner of the project at school and thus started the project activities.

The next important step in the project was the creation of a project logo! We announced a competition at school and all interested students developed and presented their proposals. Students from 3rd to 7th grade participated in this activity with a total of 39 original proposals. They were put to a vote at school. 115 students voted and chose option № 32 with 20% of all votes. The winning logo belongs to a 6th grade student. Then the winners from all partner countries of the project broadcast their proposals and competed with each other, and after voting the Bulgarian logo proposal was chosen, which you can see at the top left of the page, and which we are very proud of.

Meeting the partners and presenting the schools.

The first meeting of the partners was held online on November 13, 2021.

We discussed all the partner schools and unanimously decided to hold an online meeting, as the epidemiological situation did not allow for a live meeting and we had to react according to the situation. And so we held the first online meeting between the partner schools to get to know each other, introduce the schools and discuss the following project activities. Colleagues presented their schools and the project was considered step by step with all activities. We discussed how we would connect and how we would contact, how we would exchange information and mail, and of course we discussed how we would work in a pandemic! The meeting went great in a creative and friendly atmosphere.

Games. Creating games and toys

We discussed with the students the activities of the Games Club - to create our own games - board, logic, racing, etc., to send our partners traditional Bulgarian games, also to make toys, including musical instruments to accompany songs and music. The students started the activities with great enthusiasm and creativity. They created games and toys that they played with pleasure, competed and had fun. Some of them related to Christmas we translatedandprovidedtoourpartners.Someofthe gamesandtoyswere created while we were in lockdown and the school was closed. When we got back to school, we had the opportunity to play the games created by the students, as well as the ones sent to us by our partners.

Game exchange

We sent to each partner country traditional Bulgarian games by regular mail and received from them their games accordingly. For the exchange, our students chose traditional Bulgarian games, we wrote the rules and translated them, and then together with small gifts and Christmas cards, which were also made by our students, we sent them to our project partners.

We received games from our partners!

And we learned how to play games from Latvia, Turkey, Portugal, Spain and Greece.

Games ireated by our students which they play so far.

1. Competitive game with disposable plastic cups.

It is played in teams of two people. The goal is to build a castle from the cups. Each team has 50 cups and a time of 1 minute. The team that builds the tallest and most stable castle the fastest wins. If a glass falls, the team does not drop out, but only wastes time. However, they drop if the whole castle falls, ie. all cups
