Numerous parents have pulled their children out of the public education system in protest over the recently updated sex education curriculum. Much protest comes from religious and moral claims over the innocence and "unconventional" lifestyles and family dynamics. The curriculum was last updated in 1998 and has been taught in classrooms ever since. The past 15+ years have seen many recent developments from smartphones to the expansion of internet and online resources.
