JJ Lacourt

president and founder of Bras for Hope coaLition

Growing up, JJ LaCourt watched her mother and sister help those in need by providing food, clothing and money. With such great female role models in her life, it was hardly surprising that Ms. LaCourt would later take on the mission of becoming founder and president of the Bras For Hope Coalition. Ms. LaCourt knew at a very young age that she wanted to do something that would help a lot of people. She did not know it at the time, but those people would be cancer survivors. However, her sister, Esperanza Rivera, affectionately known as Eppi, died of breast cancer in 1993. From that moment, Ms. LaCourt knew she had to continue Eppi’s legacy of giving to others by working with other women struggling with breast cancer In 1999, she established Azzizawear International, Inc., a company that sells beautiful bras designed with detailed embroidery and rhinestones. Ms. LaCourt decided to follow through with her sister’s legacy and began her non-profit organization, Bras For Hope, in 2007. The Bras For Hope organization provides uninsured, underinsured or low income breast cancer survivors with high quality garments and prosthetics with an eye towards emotional healing through helping them reclaim their identity and femininity by focusing on looking and feeling good. Currently, the Bras For Hope Coalition is working on fundraising to be able to donate bras to those in need nationally and internationally. Additionally, Bras For Hope is also evolving and creating ways to inform and inspire survivors and supporters through online communications and social media. Ms. LaCourt’s mission is to carry on her sister’s legacy of giving by assisting cancer survivors through their illness and helping them find beauty in their lives. Ms. LaCourt is presently available to speak on the behalf of Bras For Hope as a spokesperson on various subjects encompassing cancer, health, her personal story and ways to develop and sustain a non-profit organization. 10

Nutrición

“The last reason that most diet and exercise resolutions fail is that people see them as temporary measures instead of permanent lifestyle changes. of course, you must diet to lose weight, but if you go back to your old eating habits and sedentary lifestyle, you will certainly gain the weight back,” said Tina M. Martin, R.D., L.D., from Medina County health Department WiC Division, ohio.

YOLO!

Meanwhile, Georges Philips and Simon Shawcross, co-authors of book "The one Diet", said in this book how those who fail in their weight loss resolutions tend to have one of the following issues; they adopt the wrong diet plan, they are duped by the "miracle" weight loss industry, they over rely on exercise, or they approach weight loss with a mindset designed to fail. They explain that with such a vast array of diets to choose from, some would-be dieters minimize their chances of success by simply selecting an ineffective or unrealistic diet.

4 Reasons why Diets Fail 1. forbidden foods Diets eliminating an entire food group (such as carbohydrates) and not using the full spectrum of My Pyra mid are difficult to follow and will likely lead to a slip. 2. don’t exaggerate if you eat too few calories and are constantly hungry, you risk an eventual willpower blowout, leading to a major diet setback.

Weight loss and nutrition services advertising for local Hispanic publications.

3. Not exercising Diets are not a substitute for exercise. Exercise helps your body burn calories and strengthens your muscles 4. Mentality You may think it is overeating “normal” because all the people close to you are overweight or obese, and they overeat too.
