St Benedict’s C of E VA Junior School Governor monitoring report

Monitoring focus: Distinctively Governance in Church Schools at the Old Deanery, Wells Date and description of monitoring activity: Thursday February 22nd 2018. Sue Wootton attended this meeting as a Foundation Governor.

The Aim of the meeting was to explore the distinctive character of Church schools. The training covered the Vision and character of the Church of England. Christian Ethos and Values Supporting, monitoring and challenging the school's Christian foundation School organisation Diocesan Support Key Points: Awareness that school is Christian on entry to the school. An Awareness of dimension of Christianity and an acceptance that this can be included in any dialogue within the school. Difference between Church Schools and Faith Schools that there is no indoctrination but an experience of Christian values which is inclusive of all children. Can Download 2016 C of E Vision for Education ' Spreading good Practice ' One of the slides was entitled ' life in all its fullness ' which sums up the vision of St Ben's school in that it looks at children achieving their potential, and improving their self esteem and self worth .
