Newsletter 25 Monday 28th April 2014 Dear Parent/Carer,
Art Project A Glastonbury Festival artist is working with all classes this week designing and decorating banners for the pyramid stage area; the theme being ‘a cleaner, greener planet’. The children will be working with emulsion paint, therefore could you please provide your child with a set of clothes suitable for the job. Year 5 & 6 will need to bring clothes in tomorrow and year 3 & 4 on Wednesday. Re: Mobile phones for Support Dogs We are very much looking forward to welcoming ‘Support Dogs’ to our school tomorrow. Support Dogs rely on donations to continue training dogs to transform people’s lives. The charity is able to raise funds by collecting unwanted mobile phones – they are able to accept phone and battery, or just phone, just battery, but please make sure all SIM cards are removed. PLEASE BRING THEM INTO SCHOOL TOMORROW MORNING (29TH APRIL) SO THAT THE CHARITY MAY TAKE THE COLLECTION AFTER THEIR DEMONSTRATION. Clubs Just to remind you that all clubs have now started. Those children that have subscribed to Tag Rugby on Mondays and Drama club on Tuesdays also start this week. Please note that there will be no Wild Gardeners club or Athletics club during the week of 5 th May due to staff being at Kilve. Christian Aid Cake sale Just to remind you of the Christian Aid cake sale this Friday 2 nd May which is being held at 3.15 p.m. in the school hall. We need your help in several ways: by providing lots of yummy home-baked cakes (sponge cakes, iced or plain; fruit cake or loaf; or small cakes of any sort) , cookies, biscuits, savouries such as pizzas, pasties or scones etc. by helping to set up and man the cake stall Everything will be sold that afternoon after school, so invite your friends to come and buy! All proceeds will be sent to Christian Aid. If you are willing to volunteer please let the ladies in the school reception know.
