Buildings have been refurbished. School didn’t allow any variations to contract thus minimising contractor margins to school’s advantage. Outdoor corridors used for bags. Outdoor shelter cost around $350,000 and has been installed for about four years.
Brick courtyard seating area. Wet area—would not do this again—wasteful use of space. Most sink areas now under cover outside—these were great. No additional toilets built as school was over-code. The high tables and stools were very popular as were the ‘couch-seats” Also very expensive from this particular company! Open spaces also included computer bays and quiet areas. Office areas used for both teachers and students. Glassed ‘quiet’ spaces multi-level seating arrangements for student learning—these were great.
The space on the left I was paid for by the Board and will be set up as a kitchen. At the far end of the verandah in the photo below you can just spot the outdoor sink area. To the right of this is the teacher/ team leader work space which the principal has allocated to students. A range of seating options for students in the picture above and below right.
