C-Art in Extraordinary Places continues for a fourth year seeing artists take up ALLERDALE residence in The Blencathra Centre | National Trust Sue Foster properties, Blencathra Centre, Yonder End, Cathedrals, Threlkeld, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 4RX churches and www.lakedistrict-art.co.uk cultural gems. You will be inspired by Sue Foster’s

paintings of contemporary landscapes in acrylic. Using strong colours and patterns she depicts the drama and beauty of the Lake District. Sue and her work are featured in Terry Abraham’s latest film, Life of a Mountain - Blencathra�. Living on this particular mountain has been the inspiration for much of her recent work. Sue has her studio at the Blencathra Centre and is exhibiting especially for the C-Art Festival alongside a display by the Mountain Heritage Trust. Refreshments are available. Painting

Honister Slate Mine | Terry Hawkins Honister Slate Mine, Borrowdale, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 5XN 017687 77230 www.lovingslate.co.uk terry311@hotmail.co.uk Over the past 12 months Terry has completed two commissioned pieces for Honister Slate Mine. Both are sculpted, of course, from beautiful Honister Green Slate and are sited in the grounds of the Mine, against the stunning backdrop of Fleetwith Pike and the Northern Fells. The first piece, entitled “Reflections”, is his representation of the mountains and lakes of the Lake District, and the second piece, entitled “The Honister Osprey”, celebrates the special relationship between the Osprey and the Lake District.
