Parents’ weekly source for what’s going on at The Oaks

Blessing Ticket This week’s blessing ticket winner is Tate Manning. Tate said “thank you” to a student without being asked. Great job, Tate!

Every Friday (with the exception of the first Friday each month) our students are given the opportunity to wear clothing other than their uniform and bring in a dollar to support missions. The funds collected are sent to the missionaries “adopted” by each class. This week we are featuring Kristen Fry, the missionary of Mrs. Meador’s K4 class. Kristen works in Kampala, Uganda at Dwelling Places, a home for street children and orphans. She asks for prayer for health and stamina. Pray also for safety, peace, joy, stress management, the staff and the kids’ hearts. Kristen is currently on leave

S.C.I.S.A. As most of you know, The Oaks Christian School is a member of the South Carolina Independent School Association (S.C.I.S.A) as well as the Association of Christian Schools International (A.C.S.I.). A decision was made a little over a year ago to seek S.C.I.S.A. accreditation in 2011. We are pleased to report that we are right on target. Yesterday, Mr. Wrenn delivered to S.C.I.S.A. headquarters our accreditation packets which will be reviewed by two college professors, a current headmaster and S.C.I.S.A. administration prior to their visiting our campus in March. Our teachers and staff have worked diligently on this project and are very excited about the pending confirmation and approval of what we provide for our students and families here at The Oaks. Thank you for all of your love and support through your prayers and your presence.

HELP! We can still use volunteers who can come once a week to help serve lunch. Please email Evelyn if you are available.

Friday, January 14 Staff Luncheon-please call the office if you can sit in a classroom! Thank you!

Headmaster Headline Re-enrollment is in full swing. It is exciting to see all the forms coming in and the classes being filled. God continues to be faithful as he’s given us the privilege of providing a strong Christian education that will help develop your child’s biblical worldview. Thank you for trusting The Oaks Christian School to fill this role and to partner with you in the responsibility our Father has given you Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it Proverbs 22:6. It is both an honor and a privilege to be a part of your team. Blessings, Phil The Oaks Christian School * 505 Gahagan Road Summerville SC 29485 * 843-875-7667 * Fax 843-871-2629 *
