WILD THINGS Ballina Greens are hosting a screening of the documentary Wild Things on 27 May at Ballina Fair Cinemas It is a powerful and inspiring documentary that chronicles 365 days of frontline environmental activism across Australia. Directed and produced by Sally Inglewood, Wild Things combines archival and camera phone footage with stunning aerial photography and beautiful in-forest images to record the courage and determination of ordinary people, young and old, putting themselves on the line to protect the natural world. Against a backdrop of drought, fire and floods, we witness how today’s envoironmental activists are making a difference. The screening will be preceded by a discussion panel of local ‘Wild Things’, Aidan Ricketts (author of The Activists’ Handbook), Mandy Nolan (journalist, comedian), Kate Coxall (Stop Adani and Strike4Climate activist) and Tamara Smith MP, Greens Member for Ballina, who will each talk about the wildest things they have seen while defending the planet. May 27 6–7pm: drinks, nibbles, panel chat. 7–9pm: Film Screening. Ballina Fair Cinema $25 includes drink and raffle ticket. www.greens.org.au/nsw/wildthings
