The

Good Life An unusual dream

Who doesn’t dream about making peanut butter and doing it in paradise? Well, Tim and James did, and that’s how The Byron Bay Peanut Butter Company started. They decided ‘to make the world’s best natural peanut butters with the world’s best peanuts’ from Kingaroy, QLD. They’re talking about Australian-grown Hi-Oleic peanuts that have a different oil chemistry to regular peanuts. According to Tim and James, ‘They taste so great because the oleic-acid ratio more closely resembles that of olive or avocado oil. Hi-Oleic means they’re higher in monounsaturated or “good” fats. It also allows the peanuts to stay fresher for longer and gives them extra crunch! That means they are healthier and tastier’. Their Facebook page is full of beautiful products they are serving in Byron at their store; for example, Peanut Butter Fudge Chunks and Peanut Butter Truffles dipped in chocolate and topped with coconut. Or how about actual Peanut Butter and Jelly Nice Cream?

The new brand has received a terrific response. ‘In the first 12 months of business we were selling our peanut butters nationwide, stocked in beautiful artisan and independent grocery stores and even stocking our snack packs in five-star resorts’, they say. ‘The most exciting achievement in our first year of business has been exporting to Singapore, Fiji and more recently Los Angeles.’ The team have recently opened a new Peanut Butter Store, styled by none other than Mr Jason Grant and located in Byron Bays Arts & Industry Estate. This is in fact the only place you can try the ridiculously delicious peanut butter ice creams, cookies and treats. ‘We are seriously living the dream here in Byron Bay, come visit us’, say Tim and James. also make satays and snack packs. We think our peanut butter is so popular because we are a small artisan company. But most importantly it’s the roast of our peanuts that makes the perfect level of crunch and silky-smooth texture that keeps our team super busy.’
