Wood-fired pizza Bruns Picture House food vans pop-up in Byron

Every week through January Brunswick Picture House will host an interesting and different food van.

Last week the Pearl of the Quarter brought flavour from exotic places around the globe.

The owners of the popular Quattro restaurant at the Lennox beachfront have now brought their catering arm, and their wood-fired pizza technique, to a pop-up at Spoke, between Byron and Suffolk. After years of successfully working side by side with Marius cafe in Lennox, the owners of Quattro restaurant were invited to team their catering arm ‘Olive & Luca’ with Marius’s new cafe in Byron – Spoke. Situated at the Byron Holiday Park, Spoke cafe is open for breakfast and lunches and is now hosting Pizza Pop-Up every Wednesday and Thursday evening from 5pm. With an awesome wood-fired pizza oven, hand-opened dough (the real Italian style), the yummiest of toppings, live music, fairy lights and the option of BYO all the locals are stoked (pun) to have Olive & Luca feeding and entertaining them – with lots making it a weekly ritual. Tim Stokes (local Byron singer) has now joined forces with the crew and is adding to the relaxed and fun vibe with acoustic guitar and vocals.

This week Chris and Trevor’s Food Kartel bring the fabulous tastes of Mexican street food.

The menu although small is filled with fresh ingredients including sopressa salami, fior de late mozzarella and local king prawns. Prices are very reasonable too, with pizza starting from $12 and the salad of the day from $7, which makes eating out really easy.

The two husband-and-wife teams behind Quattro Lennox Head, Olive & Luca, and the pizza pop-up are Alessandro and Joanna, and Angel and Paul. The owners all take turns working at the pop-up, so you will find one or two of them there making pizza or chatting to customers. The Olive & Luca catering will make you feel welcome at their Pizza Pop-Up at Byron Holiday Park, whether you’re actually on holidays, or just a local having a night off cooking. Pizza pop-up. Wednesday and Thursday nights at Spoke, Byron Holiday Park, 5–37 Broken Head Road, Byron Bay.
