CEP provides a full range of options to support students who are eligible for part-time enrollment in credit bearing classes but fall below the English proficiency requirement for full university admission. CEP specializes in preparing students for academic success, not only in academic English but also on the skills necessary to be a successful university student.

CREDIT BEARING UNIVERSITY CLASSES

Students who reach our Pre-Advanced level will be eligible to enroll in part-time English classes and part-time university courses prior to reaching full-matriculation at Fredonia. This concurrent semester allows students to take university courses for credit, while receiving English support.

UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENT

The CEP classroom environment mirrors that of the university to prepare you for various class styles, teaching methods, and the standards and expectations you will face at university. You will also have access to all of the University’s international student programing and support services.

ACADEMIC ENGLISH

You will develop the skills needed to use English in an appropriate way at university.Such skills include creating and giving formal presentations, writing essays, summarizing, critiquing academic texts and far more.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Fredonia offers approximately $8 million in merit and need based scholarships to academically qualified new and returning students each year. Students only need to submit the application and required admission documents in order to be considered. Scholarships will be awarded to high achieving applicants at the discretion of the international admissions counselor.

GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS

Graduate students may apply for a graduate assistantship upon acceptance into one of our graduate programs. Graduate assistantships are usually posted between March and April on Fredonia’s Human Resources website. Full assistantships cover 18 credit hours/year at the New York State tuition rate (approx $9,400), plus a $6,700/year stipend.
