East Wing refurbishment completed
from The Star June 2016
by Erica Brady
The long journey of planning, designing, meeting and building has finally come to an end with the refurbishment of the East Wing learning spaces, now known as Trasna.
1 Discussions in 2012 about buying new classroom furniture led to the development of The Wave Project in 2013 and the Leadership Team’s strategic vision for the East Wing. Re-imagining our original classrooms as contemporary learning spaces that accommodated a pedagogy that would develop skills to equip our students for the future became a major commitment. Stage 1 for our Year 7 students was completed in 2015; Stage 2 for the Year 8s followed soon after. In Term 1 of 2016, Stage 3 was completed with the groundfloor development of four learning spaces: one new kitchen for Food Technology and three new Science laboratories. With the careful specialist visions of Faculty Leaders Bernadette Dorning and Toula Tripaydonis, the ground floor of Trasna is now open for business.
