Microfinance and the Poor – The Church‟s Response th

11am - 3pm at Woodlands Church There is growing interest in the use of microfinance to support some of the poorest people in the developing world. Organised by Woodlands Group of Churches. Foodbank Vision-Sharing Evening
Sunday 12th February 7.30 – 9pm at Ebenezer Church This evening is organised by Ebe and Filton Community Church as we journey together towards launching a foodbank for communities of North Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Please come and join us to hear some vision and ways of being involved. The evening will be recorded for those who are away but want to know more.

From fat to fit Derek has made the rash decision to run the Bristol 10K on 20th May. He is going to exchange his roundness for fitness. To encourage him, his athletic wife Angela will be joining him (bless her). We will be running with Woodlands Group of Churches „Love Running‟ raising money for very worthwhile causes both local and overseas. Now to the point: 1. We will be asking people for sponsorship 2. Ebe Year Team 2012/13 Are you interested in giving a year (full or part-time) to experience working in many different areas of church life, developing gifts, discovering new ones, while also gaining practical theological training? Starts in September 2012. Speak to Stewart North or Derek Powell for more information.
Reading Buddies Would you be prepared to spend one hour per week, in term time, reading with children for whom English is not a first language? Volunteers needed in every school in Horfield and Lockleaze, including Orchard School. If interested then please speak to Stewart North who will put you in touch with the team who organise the training sessions and arrange CRBs. If you want to know more about what happens then speak to Karen Payton who has volunteered over the last year.
