Unfortunately we can not prepare ourselves for such an event, not even sirens helped in this matter. According to survirors they only heard the sirens a couple of seconds before the Tsunami hit shore. By that time, it was to late to prepare for it. I walk alone.............. I dream through my endless days of nights. I am governed by my never ending thirst for blood. Holding close to my heart a love at which I am not allowed. You never truly understand what you have gained till you acquire it and you never truly know what you have till it has been taken away…….. My name is Kathleen. I was raised on a prairie in central Oklahoma. Tending to the horses late one night in the spring the animals were spooked about something. Day’s would pass and not even my dog would leave the property. My father and I were becoming worried that maybe wolves were scouting for food. I was the only female of my home. My mother died of scarlet fever just a year prior, so it was just me, my father and my four brothers. The last night I recall of my human life a couple of drifters came to our home and stated that they were tired, hungry and of need of shelter. I had my suspicions but my father, missing my mother so much took compassion on them. I was asked to fetch water for everyone that night. I cooked rabbit, and made some bread. My father became leery of the travelers attention they bestowed on me and asked me to retire early. I was only 19 and the prospects of finding a man where we lived were almost impossible. I grabbed the pale and walked towards the river when I heard gunshots fired. I heard my father screaming “Run Kathleen!” and I did. I never looked back and I knew the men were trailing me. I knew my family was gone and I also knew I was alone. I ran for what seemed like forever till I hit something knocking me off my feet. Looking up, the moon cast down a faint light which illuminated a very tall muscular man. I could hear the other two men at a distance gaining ground. He then spoke
to me…his voice deep but melodic calming me “ I never wanted this for you.” I am so sorry” I blinked and he disappeared. I got up and walked towards a tree that had fallen and waited for them to find me. I could hear the rustling of the dirt under their feet. The light cool breeze passing me in its almost calming factor. Looking up I saw them make their way to me laughing and taunting me as they came closer. Then screaming………my body jerked in shock. One of the boy’s was being dragged by his feet into the forest the sound of snapping bones and crazy liquid filled gargling sounds echoed through the forest The other boy’s eyes become huge and a revelation hit him that he was next. He then ran towards me and pulled me to my feet holding my arms back and shielding himself with my body. I laughed at this, knowing full well that we were both going to die. I accepted it and closed my eyes. I felt my body fall back then being ripped from the boy. Placing my hands over my ears I heard him scream over and over again just a few feet away from me then nothing. I felt someone pick me up and pull me to my feet. Placing his lips on my neck he drank from me. At that point I did not care, there was nothing to go home to and I knew…somehow this was going to change me. Fear was always such a natural emotion, almost like breathing…….”When was my next meal going to come?” The worst where the storms that would rip through scaring the country-side. Raw energy full of wind, dirt, water and trees splintering everything in its wake, almost like nature itself had something to prove. My fear was gone…..I thought..How silly I was to dwell on such a useless emotion. My mind was opened to a whole new plethora of thinking..Instinctively I knew I was no longer human. I was in the midst of evolving into something a thousand more times inelegant and as I felt my body change I knew I was going to be dangerous.

Lurking in every shadow, every corner, stands and watches you! It has memories of you, it watches you Sleep.... Don’t think it doesn’t!
No matter if we watch a movie, or read a book we see it’s good or evil side in the manuscript! Most don’t recognize it! Do you? Why is it that Children mostly get bothered by Ghosts, spirits, and demons? What do they have, that we have forgotten, or not exercised? Could it be that we used to be able to see them? And what if we could? Did our parents, baby sitters, or family shun us for telling them? And what if we got it into our brain that they don’t exist? Than according to the Bible they got their wish! I’m sure that when you were growning up you have heard stories that “You have an angel watching you!, You are walking down to the Slippery slope’s of Satan..” How is it that it’s either one side or the other, your good or bad? Cartoons show us all the time that Good triumphs over bad. Most movies do as well! So what is true? Even the Bible says that God will throw Satan back into the Abyss forever. So how can some think that Evil/ or being Bad could be good? Is it the years of training that tells us to hate? Our environment? Back in the 1990’s I became a pastor of a non-denominational church, sure it had it’s up’s and downs but I did witness a lot of spiritual occurances that any one person could call it crazy. And couldn’t possibly exist, you know if God truely existed why would he put such an obomination with us? That type of question kept running through my head as I had these experiences. After the Millennium my Daughter, Ariona also had a spiritual awaken by having gone to bed and her grandmother and I heard her scream as if someone had broken in, or she seen a Huge Spider. How gut wrenching it felt to know that maybe, just maybe your child was being hurt in a fashion that you did not know about. Or for that matter, can’t see! Ariona was very afraid, scared and freightened about what had touched her. But after I managed to get upstairs to find out what was going on, and when I got upstairs a red ‘visible mark’ was present on the back of her left leg. In the
shape of a thumb and forefinger pinching in such a force that it was manifesting into a bruise right in front of my eyes. I was furious that what ever it was could not show it’s face, nor made a noise when adults were present. That was until I demanded for it to make itself known. I said a quick prayer, spread some salt, cast and bound all of it’s force together and cast it to the watery abyss just as Christ did with the demons into the Swine (which are pigs by the way). Contacted a friend of mine at the Catholic Church, it is not an ordinary person at the church though. The Church within Church called the Opus Dei as I have had assistance from them before, it seems that if you speak the text in Latin, the Angel or Demon knows what you are saying. To bad they didn’t have a translator on that side. The Opus Dei assisted by asking certain questions about what happened, how long ago, did we notice anything else by the marks, does this happen often? The term demon derived from the Greek word ‘Daimon’ which actually means a supernatural being. I wonder how they knew to call it supernatural? Though it has commonly been looked at with an Evil Spirit the term originally meant a Spiritual being that influenced a person’s character. An Agathos Daimon (good spirit), was described at the Males Spirit. So, let me get this straight, if you were a man back in the Greek empire and your “spirit” was growing, you could have been so called possessed by the Agathos Daimon? That’s pretty screwed up, if we read it properly. That’s just as bad as calling the Mother of Jesus a Witch for having a Child without a Male reproductive part ever intersecting with her female system. There could be lots of variations for these causes, it’s just up to us what we believe could happen. Could there be good and bad spirits? I will discuss it further in the next issue.

History on Demons & Angels (where does this come from?) Did you know that if you did your research on just how far Demons & Angels go back in history, we could actually trace it to Babylonian times. Do you know how to read or translate the tablets? I’m talking about Babylonian which was forwarded to Sumerian. We’ve been told old stories, but I think that it’s been miscommunicated all these years. Raging storms, evils gods, ruthless demons, workers of evil, lets find out exactly what they are!!
1. The south Wind 2. A Dragon [whose mouth is opened] 3. A Grim Leopard [which carries off the young] 4. A Terrible Shibbu 5. A Furious Wolf [who knoweth not to flee] 6. A Rampant [which marches against God and King/ Queen] 7. A Storm [Evil, which takes on Vengeance]
These seven are all messengers tp King Anu, did you know that darkness of the world was considered (SIN or Evil) and the Rising of the Day was a (Blessing or Good). I personally know how the civilization of the day thought that Good and Evil triumphed in a persons day or night.
All images shown on these two pages are considered Babylonian, even right down to the ‘Egyptian Battery’ or so it’s been called. Obviously our intelligic came from the Babylonian civilation whether we’d like to think that or not. But I would even say that Atlantis has based their own religion upon ‘Our civilation’ including the SUN/ or Disc shapes that we see during worship. For instance, the Eye of Ra with the protection around it, did you know that the snake and bird were combined to describe as a Demon of that time?
Awakening The wind and rain blew in a fury. I could hear the thunder rumbling under my bare feet. The floor was strangely smooth and cold. I could hear voices but I couldn’t understand what was said. The language was foreign to me. I just needed to see one of them but my eyes would not focus. I was becoming angry I could not understand what was going on. I tried to stand but something was holding me down. I felt something pinch my arm hard… .I sucked in my breath, a strange feeling came over me. Warmth was being drawn in till it took over my entire body. My senses became heightened ….I realized there were four men in the room. One directly in front of me smelling strangely of some floral scent I had never experienced before. Slowly I looked up and saw him, my eyes focused. He stood very tall he had blond hair and blue green eyes, his face was curious and yet he had a look of complete disbelief. One of the men from the back of the room with red hair came forward, he spoke softly but his eyes painted a different story. He held a small metal object. The blond in front of me looked distressed and moved him aside. Making eye contact I looked into the his eyes and connected with him…..I showed him the Pyramids of Cairo, the Nile, my mother and father, when I was a little girl and played in the desert. When I was changed, how my master left me, why I was exiled and placed in the tomb they unearthed. I could feel his pulse quicken, the blood and oxygen pulling and pumping in his heart. His name witch rang in my head “Sebastian”, his memories, his childhood, his days in school but what I wanted to know most was the year. He began to shut down and fell to the floor. His nose bleeding he looked up at me holding his hand up as if to say enough so I stopped. The red head stepped over to me and took the metal object where a bright light came blazing out…To me it looked like the very fire of the sun. I jerked in the chair trying to pull away. Grinning he took the light and placed it over my arm. I screamed out, it felt as if my very life force was being sucked dry, my skin breaking down to muscle, the tissues and sinews burning and melting away. I felt the chair fly backwards then heard the sound of shouting and angry voices. I laid on the floor tied to the chair waiting for death till I felt my body slowly being released. Sebastian and another man untied me. Fury swept through me as I looked at the red head across the room….His name was David. I then showed him a grim picture of what I did to people who crossed me and he fell to his knees screaming….I then pushed Sebastian and his friend away and sped over to David sinking my teeth into his shoulder. His body was warm and his strength was nothing to me, he was nothing to me. Within seconds his body was completely drained of fluid. I tossed him aside and turned to look at the three other gentlemen in the room. Sebastian gave me an apologetic look but he was not afraid..That intrigued me. I walked over to him placing my fingers on his chest to feel his heart. He placed his hand on top of mine and had me look at him. His mind was begging me to leave fast, he saw me burn in the sunlight witch made me feel urgency. Looking down I realized I was only warring a strange gown….Sebastian pulled off his hospital jacket and placed it on me. He then took my hand and had me fallow him out of the room. His friend a slightly shorter fellow looked of Asian descent set off a loud ring through the building. I looked mystified as we ran through the corridor. Mirrors and glass everywhere, the place was cold and sterile. I could hear some men racing after us on the opposite side of the hall and Sebastian pulled me into what he called a closet. Placing his arms around me, holding me tightly he begged me to be quiet and still. I could hear footsteps outside the door. I could have killed them all easily but I was having too much fun. Sebastian seemed to care that I stayed alive witch surprised me for humanity was nothing to me. A bunch of cattle that cared for nothing but money and massive amounts of food.… He turned the light on as I looked up at him I could feel his gaze burn into me. Grinning he pulled my hair from my face and with his voice he said “You don’t need me do you?” I smiled back at him and replied “No” witch stunned him. The alarm and the footsteps began to jumble into a loud and crazy mixture of chaos . I placed my hand on the back of his neck and pulled his lips down to mine. Cleverly I opened his lips slowly with mine rolling my tongue over his. His heart began to beat faster witch excited me. I deepened the kiss
my fangs nicking his lip, his blood tasted sweet. Sebastian grabbed the back of my hair and wound his fingers through it. If I had been human I am sure this experience would have made me insane with passion. For even in this form he was very hard to resist. Pulling him back I looked into his eyes grinning. Turning to the door I kicked it open with such a force that you could hear the wood splitting and cracking under the force of my bare foot…Sebastian’s eyes became huge….I grabbed his hand and ran almost dragging him to a window where I used the full force of my body to pulverize the glass . Diving out I took him with me my eyes glowed and I could feel my fall slowing. Sebastian held on to me. I placed my arms around his waist till we slowly made it to the ground…..Looking again upon his face I took off my necklace and handed it to him. I flashed him a genuine smile and winked. Pushing down with my knees I shot up through the air away from him. I needed him, I needed to know where my kind was and above all I wanted revenge for being placed in that tomb!!! ANGELS & DEMONS OPUS DEI DOCUMENTATION PROVIDED
“Angels and Demons”, by Dan Brown Simon & Schuster: Pocket Books, 2000 “Angels and Demons” is a Dan Brown thriller, first published in May 2000. The book, which went unnoticed, then, received a boost thanks to the marketing operation after the release of “The Da Vinci Code.” Symbology professor Robert Langdon (the same as in “The Da Vinci Code”) is suddenly plunged into the investigation of an ancient secret sect called “Illuminati” and, more specifically, the search of the deadliest weapon known to humanity (“antimatter”) that the sect has been placed in the Vatican. With a few hours to avert disaster, an Italian scientist and Langdon begin their race against time, following the trail of a mysterious “ambigrams” (messages with a double meaning) and a murderer who is always at least one step ahead. Maximilian Kohler, director of CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research, located in Switzerland) discovers the body of one of the most respected physicists in the centre, the priest Leonardo Vetra, who has been murdered in his office. In his breast, seared with a hot iron, his murderers traced the word “Illuminati.” Instead of calling the police, Kohler finds the word on the internet, and then contacts Professor Langdon, an expert on the subject, asking him for help to find the murderer. Kohler also makes contact with Vittoria, the murdered man’s adopted daughter. Langdon is appalled by what he discovers at the scene of the crime. The symbol of the Illuminati is real. A society that is supposed to have disappeared seems to have resurfaced. At the crime scene he also finds that the company has robbed a container with a quarter gram of “antimatter.” The container must remain connected at CERN, only thus is its security guaranteed, because there the “antimatter” was floating in a total vacuum created by magnetic arcs. On being disconnected from the electricity supply, the container activates an emergency battery emergency that lasts 24 hours, at the end of which there will follow a devastating explosion. The Illuminati hide the container somewhere in Vatican City, with a security camera that focuses on it, as the clock continues its relentless countdown to the scheduled time of the explosion. The same night of the murder, there takes place the conclave to elect a new Pope. It is the perfect time for the Illuminati hid antimatter in the Vatican, to strike the most influential people of the Catholic Church.
“Angels and Demons” continued Cardinal Mortati chairs the caucus; he discovers that the four preferiti, the favorites for election as Pope have disappeared: they have been kidnapped by “the Hassassin”, the alleged perpetrator of the murder of Leonardo Vetra. Langdon and Vittoria are directed to the Vatican, to search for the murderer and the “antimatter.” Kohler, the director of CERN, cannot accompany them as suffering from a respiratory crisis. Upon arrival at the Vatican, the Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca joins the investigation, together with the Swiss Guard (with Commander Olivetti, Captain Rocher and Lieutenant Chartrand). Clues that Langdon and Vittoria find in the Vatican archives lead them to inspect the so-called “altars of science” which supposedly are in Rome. Each altar refers to one of the classical elements once considered the constituent parts of all matter (earth, air, fire and water) form the “path of enlightenment” (which leads to the hiding place of the Illuminati). According to the book, the altars – works of art sculpted by Gianlorenzo Bernini, such as the ecstasy of St. Theresa – were presented as religious art so they would pass unnoticed by the Church. At each altar is discovered murdered one of the Cardinals kidnapped by the Hassassin. Cardinal Ebner of Frankfurt, dies buried waist-deep in an underground crypt (land); Cardinal Lamasse, Paris, is stabbed in the lungs and left in the Plaza de San Pedro (air); Cardinal Guidera from Barcelona, dies in a fire, and Cardinal Baggio, of Rome, is drowned in a fountain (water). All of them have been branded with the name of the corresponding element. The media are alerted to the killings and it is also reported that the late Pope had died from an overdose of heparin. This makes Vittoria examine the Pope’s body and discover that the tongue is coated, a clear sign of poisoning with heparin. Later, the Hassassin kills one of the Swiss Guards (Olivetti) and kidnaps Vittoria, but Langdon comes to her rescue. During the fight with the Hassassin, Langdon discovers that Janus (the leader of the secret society) is disguised, and has gone to brand the Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca with a fifth mark. When Langdon is on the verge of defeat, Vittoria manages to break free and attack the Hassassin. With the help of Langdon, they throw him from the balcony of Castle Sant’Angelo (which seems to be the hideout of the Illuminati) and he is killed.

“Angels and Demons” continued For various reasons, Langdon begins to suspect that Kohler is Janus, embarked on a suicide mission to kill Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca. Langdon and Vittoria race to arrive in time to save the chamberlain, who has already been marked with the diamond of the Illuminati: the inscription is made with a marker containing the names of the four elements written together: earth, air, water, fire. They force open the door and see that Kohler pointing a gun at Ventresca. Swiss guards fired on Kohler, and Lieutenant Chartrand fires several shots to kill Captain Rocher (another of the Swiss Guard), after the Camerlengo shouts that the captain is one of the Illuminati. Kohler, before he died in the clash, entrusts a video camera to Langdon and tells him release to the media. Langdon keeps in his pocket but does not intend to deliver: he assumes that it is a message from about the benefits of science and the evils of religion. While the Camerlengo is taken outside to be taken by helicopter to a hospital, he suddenly seems to receive a message from God, which reveals where is the”antimatter.” The Camerlengo runs to the Basilica followed by Langdon, Vittoria, the Swiss Guards and two journalists from the BBC. They believe that the priest is mad because of the emotional shock. They follow him to the tomb of St. Peter, and there is the container with the “antimatter.” The Camerlengo leaves the crypt with the container and goes into the square, with the intention of boarding the helicopter, doing so after asking the driver to get out of it. Once in control of the helicopter, the Camerlengo discovers that Langdon has also got on. He urges him to get off, but Langdon refuses and says he will help shed the “anti” when they are far enough away so as not to harm anybody. Urged by Langdon, he raises the helicopter. There are only a few minutes left before the container’s battery is drained. Once in the air, the Camerlengo says to Langdon that he regrets that he refused to get off the helicopter, because you cannot simply throw the “anti” to the ground. Langdon realizes then that it was a mission of no return. The Camerlengo takes the only parachute and jumps. Seconds later time runs out and the “antimatter” is released and causes a huge explosion. A few moments later, the Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca appears on the basilica of St. Peter. People believe that a “miracle” has taken place; and all those present, including the Cardinals, begin to shout his name. Meanwhile, Robert Langdon is also saved from the explosion, using the vinyl covering the windshield of the helicopter as a parachute. He drops sharply
“Angels and Demons” continued into the River Tiber, near the Isla Tiberina, which is said to possess miraculous healing powers. He wakes few minutes later at the hospital where a nurse tells him that he has some of their personal effects, such as Kohler’s camcorder, which repeats it’s recording over and over again. Langdon listens to it (the display is broken and he can not see it) and he realizes that it is not, as thought, a speech on science and religion. Langdon, angered, manages to be taken by helicopter-ambulance to the Vatican. Once there, he shows the recording to the Cardinals, on a TV. Then it is finally revealed that Janus (the head of the sect) is the Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca and that he had misled the Hassassin into believing that the Illuminati were still active and that the markers had been confiscated and hidden in the Vatican for centuries. In the recording it is is heard that Kohler had spoken with Rocher and had revealed the truth about the Camerlengo. Rocher permitted Kohler to enter to speak alone with the Camerlengo, with a gun concealed in the wheelchair. Kohler had also read the diary of Leonardo Vetra, where he said he had met with the Pope. Using psychology, Kohler manages to make Ventresca, the Camerlengo, who hired the Hassassin, admitted to killing Leonardo Vetra. In the recording it is also seen that Kohler tells the chamberlain that he has no escape, now that he had confesses his sin, but Ventresca answers that by confessing his sins he will escape. It is at this point that he marks his chest with the diamond of the Illuminati. And at his scream, the guards kill Kohler. After showing the recording to the Cardinals in conclave, all are astonished; and Cardinal Mortati realizes that this means that the Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca was the murderer of the late Pope. The Camerlengo justifies himself by saying that the pope was a “despicable liar” who had had a child and therefore had broken his vow of chastity. Mortati replies that although the pope was in love with a woman, he never broke his vows, and that the child was born through artificial insemination. At that moment, Mortati reveals that the Pope’s son is none other than the Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca. Shocked by the terrible implications of this, the Camerlengo escapes and then sets fire to his self in the balcony of the basilica. His ashes are collected by Mortati and placed next to the sarcophagus of the dead Pope.
“Angels and Demons” continued Then Mortati is elected pope. Surprisingly, the British reporters announce that on that night two popes were elected; according to the old laws, if the cardinals chanted the name of a person all at once and spontaneously, that person was elected. When the cardinals shouted out the name of the Camerlengo, they were inadvertently electing him as pontiff. Langdon and Vittoria stay at the Hotel Bernini. Lieutenant Chartrand delivers a letter to Langdon and a parcel from the new pope. The package contains the diamond marker of the Illuminati, which is given on indefinite loan to Langdon. From the literary point of view, the book does not merit attention. Like the other works of Dan Brown, this novel contains many inaccuracies that are presented as facts. For some examples visit the “Angels and Demons” entry from Wikipedia. Several of the institutions mentioned in the book have online questions and answers about these mistakes and slips, such as (without going any further) CERN: http://public.web.cern.ch/public/ en/Spotlight/SpotlightAandD-en.html. Along with the aforementioned errors, which are many and hardly worth listing, the book reproduces the same almost childish animosity toward the Catholic Church present in the other writings of the author. In this case, it seems that the intention of the novelist – expressed crudely – is to demonstrate the alleged incompatibility between the faith of the Church and science, with appeal to cases such as Galileo and other topics from the best tradition of the “black legend”. Moreover, albeit inconsistently, the book repeats old clichés about Catholicism already familiar to readers of “The Da Vinci Code”: the Church as an obscurantist institution, the promoter of the Crusades and the Inquisition, in which people live (like Ventresca) who are willing to commit terrible crimes to protect what they consider to be the good of the Church. Having waited a full seven years, the vampires’ rootstock now has yielded wonderful tight small clusters of grapes that have been skillfully blended by vampire winemakers to produce phenomenal wines — smooth and well rounded, with forward fresh fruit – that have been aged in both French and American Oak Barrels. Sip the Blood of the Vine and enjoy!
Rumor has it that the Vampire Vineyards are actually owned by a circle of vampires, and the company’s founder, an entertainment attorney from New York, is actually just a front. (Whether he and his convertible were commandeered by a Vampire is still a subject for debate.) We do know however that after satiating themselves for years with their Transylvanian blood of the vine, the powers that be decided to spice things up and migrate westward like so many vampires before them. Dracula letterUsing meticulous advance planning, these vampires planted their rootstock at the dawn of the 21st century in the mountainous region of Paso Robles, California, where the ocean fog frequently rolls in off the coast providing the perfect cover to their hidden vineyards.
Michael Machat, an entertainment attorney from New York, is actually just a front. Whether he and his convertible were commandeered by a Vampire is still a subject for debate. The truth may never be known, but we do know however that Michael first began talking about branding wine with the vampire mark back in 1985 after picking up a mysterious hitch-hiker on a late night drive through the pitch black Nevada desert. Shortly thereafter our first modern day Vampire Wine product was introduced. It was a Syrah, of Algerian origin, that was bottled in France. In 1988, we sold the first five hundred bottles of this cuvee to Alice Cooper and MCA Records in London, England, and began offering the wine in high-end London wine shops, including Selfridges.
Machat fought his way through the chaos that resulted from the perils of communism —fighting off wolves, gypsies and thieves along the way. After years of closed darkness, the Transylvania people had become as afraid of Westerners as Westerners were afraid of Vampires. Machat persuaded friends to risk their souls and join the quest. First to enlist was Leo Adelman, back in 1994, who assumed the role of banker to the vampires.
Re-Specting the Majors Music has always been rich in our culture. Our communities full of the sounds and styles created by those norms produced by it. And artists of all kinds always spiced up the city night life and many a street corner. In the 70's 80's and even 90's singers and songwriters all over the world salivated over the idea of "getting signed” and it was and all or nothing type of deal. In those days, talent contests and local gigs were the furthest reach of the vast majority of music business inspirers. And dreams of big studios and super-stars fill the minds of every young head reading Word Up Magazine. The music weather today is a far cry from the days of live band and record driven imaging; and admittedly so. The heart of music remains but the soul has been ushered away by the assumption that generalization is more profitable than individuality. Still, there is an ever increasing, very real, demand for genuine, authentic creative expression. And it is being fulfilled by a new breed of innovative, trailblazing artists and executives with a brand new concept of what it means to strive to make an impact in the music business, and a fresh approach on making it to the top. Because of recent changes in the business climate, and the ease, convenience and various technological improvements for music marketing, production and sales via Internet, many artists are choosing to record and release material independently. Especially artists who are more focused on touring and road sales, in combination with net strategies. Many are turning to the strategy of master ownership and creative-control in the independent world. It seems Independent labels have managed to create a model, solving the issue of artist development (that the majors are no longer dealing with) creating additional opportunities for artists, helping them to assess their potential for the various avenues in business, along with providing the musical services to promote strong package presentation.” More and more, consumers want a variety of options in music and they want to personalize the way they listen to the music, to suit their tastes and listening habits. They want to know about the artists they like, to listen and follow them the way they choose. This is apparent when you consider Twitter, Myspace, iTunes, ipods, Artist Reality TV shows. Artists want to express their creativity in it’s truest form, to throw themselves into the music. They want to be original and still be supported by the industry, the majors and the mainstream. The major label industry is seeking developed artists that can support a marketing format and produce sales numbers. It is no coincidence the Internet, independent and live music movements are all alive, well and growing rapidly, and the majors are having a hard time making old formulas work. Some might say one is the direct result of the other. Coming into the new Millennium music has made the most drastic changes. Much of the popular music now, fails to gather our families the way it once did and does not speak to the events and substance of our lives as people, though it is depicted as reflecting the demands of the majority. Many artists aren’t properly represented and the labels often offer no real insights or inspiration to other up and coming artists interested in entering the field, in terms of talent or technique.
Independent labels tend to focus more on the artist and are much more capable of making small changes to their marketing strategies than that of their much larger counter part. This enables artists to be packaged, marketed and promoted in new ways, in keeping with the changes in technology and the market as a whole. In some cases this is how new lanes are created, even new
genres in music. This is a much needed resource in today’s world of mixed messages, publicity stunts and endless marketing propaganda, where cookie- cutter formula’s have dominated the scene for so long that the most music savvy, industry professional couldn’t be sure of what’s next. As an artist, how do you express yourself with the constant influx of images directing you to be less like yourself and more like a standard no one really measures up to? As a music listener, how do you find new, fresh music that is original, created by real artists who you can relate to in real life? The solution is, join the exploding new, independent music movement. The music industry is a vastly recognized, worldwide market and is composed of some of the biggest- hitting CEO’s and entrepreneurs on the globe. In 2005, the overall album sales for last year were $404,484,000. This does not include the digital track sales and store singles that bring the total number of sales for that year to $645,801,000. Yet, while the numbers have been consistent, the climate in the industry has changed dramatically in the last decade, especially in the few years. A few of the leading major recording labels, namely Warner, Universal, and Sony managed to stick around through the transformation of the basic industry model. However, it was not without major changes in company composition, mergers, even complete wipe-out’s of departments and reformation, all in response to the recent increase of artists- released music,Internet bloging, sales and the like. The Indie- label industry’s massive take over can be described as a chain reaction by both the artists and consumers leaning away from the old mass marketing model. Michael Ellis, the managing editor of Billboard Magazine, explained in 2003 “When you look at the market share, collectively, the independently distributed labels are a huge segment of the business. After Universal, they are the biggest segment. They are bigger in the U.S. than the next four majors put together. In the October issue of Billboard Magazine, entitled “The million-unit question... Are the days of the six figure release week behind us?” major label CEO’s discuss the “new reality” of the industry as needing a paradigm shift in how the labels approach their business, in light of the new factors and circumstances. One distribution company head asks, “What difference does it make? Having a million unit seller is no longer an accurate indicator of business health. We are making money on records that sell 20,000 or 30,000 units.” These are examples of the changing industry that make joining the ranks of the independent movement, much more feasible and very attractive. Another check for the speedily growing independent label, which is changing the music world and supplying the public demand for authentic artistry, available in a multitude of forums that accommodate the vast differences in the consumer interests. In recent years the independent recording industry has continued to boom. With sites like Youtube and Facebook’s Reverbnation, artists have a good chance of furthering their own careers and proving marketability with hits and downloads. Some transition from there into TV and radio from there, and Internet broadcasting has taken on a life of it’s own. Right now, the Majors supply the radio stations, and television networks and their monopoly is still very much in effect. It would be foolish not to acknowledge the myriad of opportunity and farreaching affiliation “the machine” is capable of. For most artists, faster, larger exposure means a better situation. And major distribution plus the prestige and recognition of being associated with that kind of Corporate power can be the difference between being catapulted to global stardom and continuing to work the “chitlin’ circuit, as some would say. For others, net sales or tour support and sponsorship might be preferable. For those artists, using one of the emerging net support providers offering web presence boosting services, coupled with a good show promoter may just fit the bill.
It’s entirely up to the artist now to choose their road. So choose well starlets! It’s a different world out there and this is important because contrary to popular belief, the surveys have shown that when it comes to music- one size does not fit all. Today there is a very wide range of music available through a variety of means. Music is no longer limited to one format or five specific genre’s, nor is it entirely demographically dictated. The game done changed, as far as both independent and major labels are concerned. These worlds are growing ever so fused. Lines of all sorts are beginning to blur and the new creative generation screams of individuality. The proverbial pendulum is swinging and like so many musicians and consumers who have been in the shadows anticipating the arrival of a new day, we have also been patiently awaiting this time of pioneers, who take charge of their careers to create a powerful independence and music that makes a strong impression on the market that reverberates out into the atmosphere it influences.
Keenan Ivor Known as KB in the Music world, we had the chance to Interview Keenan Ivor, a musician that is on his way up the ladder with an unbelievable Song Dedicated to the Japan Relief Fund and all proceeds shall go toward the Cause. We went to Keenan asking him if he could do us a favor; The Chief , Mr. MacKay had asked Keenan to do two things for him. Do a Song that is specifically for the Japan Relief Fund, and to have an Interview within the magazine. Keenan agreed to both, so here is Keenan Ivor’s Interview. Keenan on your homepage you talk about how you started playing music at the early age of Five. Do you remember what you played, and what your favorite song was? Yes it was Stevie Wonders “I just called to say I love you” I was only fingering and completing chords, I got to the point of me being able to hear the notes. I also played the guitar at 5 which is my favorite. Once you do make it big, what are your plans? I would be honoured to be the Jamie Foxx of my ‘era’ on the Silver Screen and in the Music Industry. A movie role would be huge, other than that I just want to make people smile. Who has been your biggest music inspiration? The King of Pop of course, the late Michael Jackson he was a hard working entertainer, You’ll never find anyone better than he was.
Most people especially young men go through that period of their lives when an interest in Vampires becomes almost an obsession. I remember during my teens eagerly waiting for the next Hammer film to come out featuring Dracula and even writing to one of the films stars, Peter Cushing, who was then my idol. Christopher Lee for me was and still is the ultimate “Dracula and everything since then has been a poor imitation. I even went as far as painting my bedroom black and trying to get a coffin to sleep in. So what is this obsession? Why does this period happen to many teenagers? Is it a worry when this fascination carries over into adult life? I am not going to try and analyze the reasons for this in this article but try and show where this fascination comes from and how the myth (or truth!) about Vampires arose. Let us try first to answer the question; Do Vampires exist? There are some well documented accounts that suggest that they do not in the least the case of Arnold Paole. It was reported that Arnold was bitten by a vampire while he was serving as a soldier in his countries Army. When he returned home he became a farmer. One day while working in the fields Paole had a fatal accident. Suddenly people started dying with what appeared to be from loss of blood. This started rumors about their being a Vampire in their midst. When it was reported by some that they had seen Arnold walking around after his death looking terrible with glassy eyes and long, sharp teeth fear spread amongst the villagers very quickly. It was decided by the elders to dig up Arnold’s body which, after exhumation appeared to be as fresh as the day that he was buried, with a bloom in his cheeks and blood on his mouth. Terrified, the villagers cut off his head, drove a steak through his heart and re-buried him. The deaths stopped and everything went back to normal. There are many more tales throughout history and whether they are true or not cannot be proven, but it does show how the legend of the most famous Vampire Count Dracula started.
The story is supposedly based on a factual person, Vlad the Impailer, a Hungarian ruler known as Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad Dracul-a, which when translated means “son of the dragon”. He took great delight in impaling people on sharp stakes, letting them suffer until they died a horrible and extremely painful death, and was also accused of drinking human blood. Together with the many legends of vampires around long before Bram Stoker wrote his book, Vlad was an ideal subject to bring these “legends” together into one person Count Dracula, and one thing a Vampire. Stoker had obviously picked his subject well and at the ideal time. He had written several other books but none became as famous as Dracula (1897) and the books he also wrote after this never ever attained the notoriety of this one – it was to become a classic and the birth of the Vampire culture that exists today. So, do Vampires exist? Well depending on exactly what you classify as a Vampire. The answer is yes. If however you think the Vampire as portrayed by today’s clichés such as; the undead, bat morphing, garlic fearing, reflection lacking creature of the night. Then, the answer is no unless you can tell me something different. © David Oddy 2011

Spilling from my heart, The timeless line of infinity before me. A never-ending journey I take alone without fear or regret. I take your life-force to sustain my never ending thirst. Dracula “Love at First Bite.” A 1979 film starring George Hamilton and Susan Saint James was brilliant. A romantic comedy witch has always been a longtime favorite of mine. The very first film featuring Vampire’s was a movie called “Vampire of the Coast” a silent film created in 1909. The most common misconception for the first Dracula movie released witch was “Nasferatu” in 1922, a German expressionist film. Over the centuries there have been many myths on how Vampire’s came to be. “What it must be like to experience strange and wonderful things that both dreams and nightmares are made of.” The two biggest fascinations with them are that they are Immortal and that they drink Blood. I honestly believe that there is more to them than that. But......that is the beauty of it; you don’t have to agree with me. You decide.
Vampire Mythology Vampires date back to Ancient Greeks, Romans, Hebrews and Mesopotamians. One of the first civilizations that documented the existence of Vampires was the Persians having found Pottery shards that were excavated; they depicted creatures attempting to drink blood from their victims. “Lilith” in Hebrew mythology... was considered to be Adams first wife before Eve. Banished by God he out of Eden Lilith left Adam to become the Queen of the Demons. Lilith’s Blood drinking was described to be evil. To this day parents use and hang amulets over their child’s cradle for protection. Since the Middle Ages Hungary mentions blood-thirsty creatures. In the 12 century Hungarian’s interrogated a Pagan Shaman during a trial in the city of Sarospatak, claiming the existence of a Demon, witch was called, “Izcacus” translated as (Blood Drinker). A Demon whom was said to be a crazed entity called to destroy the enemies of the Pagans. Romanian Vampires were called the Moroi. A slavic translation known as “Nightmare” another name was Strigoi classified as the living dead. The Strigoi was said to have two hearts or souls.... they had the ability to send out their souls to meet with other Strigoi to consume the blood of wildlife or an unfortunate passerby. A person with red hair and blue eyes was seen as a potential Strigoi. Rumors of unnatural death or death without baptism were feared to be at risk of becoming a Vampire. India has tales of Vetalas, beings that inhabit courses. The Vetala is said to be an undead creature that hangs upside down in tree’s on cremation grounds and cemeteries.
