Despite coming from a graphic design/typography background my fine art practice is predominantly 3D based work. My sculpture is relatively minimal in form frequently making use of repetition. It is chiefly materials led, these have varied from computer parts and wooden type blocks to latex, concrete and wax. In 2011 I won the Departure Student Art Prize for my piece ‘Communication Breakdown’. One strand of my work investigates the tensions between order and chaos, control and lack of control, with a particular interest in process and use of a variety of materials and interventions.
