Reminder: Registrations should be sent back to the Rec. Department via the school or dropped off at the Town Office at your earliest convenience. If you would like to register in person, please schedule with Hillary. Payments must be received with your registration form unless other arrangements have been made. Please keep this book until the beginning of November.

FALL

Due to the current border crossing regulations, the Easton Recreation Department is strongly encouraging children to get a passport card. You can apply for the card at Presque Isle or Mars Hill Post Office. The approximate cost is $60. Children may still cross the border (without a passport, on a school bus) with a certified birth certificate (one that is stamped by the town clerk and on official paper) and a permission slip. You must get your child’s birth certificate at the Town Office/City Hall in the town where your child was born.

2012

August - October

Another option is to take a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate to any USA Border Crossing & an agent will copy and stamp with their seal. Adults MUST have a Passport or Passport card in order to cross the border since June 1, 2009. All children and adults will have to show proof before boarding the bus for trips that cross the Canadian border. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter!

Registration Information A registration form is included in the back of this booklet, please return it at your first convenience to the school or the Town Office. Some programs are right around the corner, so time is of the essence. A release form must be on file for ALL participants. Payments should be made for all programs at the time of registration. Some programs have a minimum/maximum number of participants. A child will not be considered enrolled in a program until payment is made in full, unless other arrangements have been made. Please make checks payable to the Town of Easton. If you would prefer to do registration in person, please schedule a time to meet with Hillary by calling 551-7737 or email recreation@eastonme.com.

Program Times It is essential parents know the time a program begins and ends so arrangements are made to have the child picked up on time. Since we are a one-person department and the many programs offered, there is often little or no time between activities. Please do your very best to have your child picked up on time! Discipline If your child misbehaves or is not listening to our Recreation Director or parent/high school volunteers while participating in any program, the following actions will be taken: 1st Warning - Verbal warning and director will be notified. 2nd Warning - Child will be removed for the remainder of the activity. 3rd Warning - Parent will be notified & the child may not participate in the next scheduled day of that program.

This league is overseen by parents, so get out there and play with your kids! I am in need of someone to supervise this “team - please let me know if you are available. Let the rec. department know if your child will be participating so you can be kept informed of any changes. The group will meet every Thursday in September from 5-6 PM on the field behind the playground. There are no games at this age level - just an opportunity to learn & have fun!

Playgroup will meet two Fridays over Harvest break from 9:30 - 11 AM on September 21 & 28. This is open to kids in Kindergarten and younger. We will not meet on October 5 due to Cooking Camp.

It has become a tradition to purchase a tee-shirt as a memento but they also serve as a safety precaution. When in a large group, it is very helpful to have all the children (staff, parents, volunteers, etc.) dressed in the same color to easily keep track of everyone. Many of you already have a tee -shirt from this summer but if your child does not, it is strongly recommended that you purchase a tee-shirt (or two) if your child will be attending field trips and outings throughout Harvest Recess. These are available in both youth & adult sizes. This year’s tee-shirt is red with a white logo (as seen on right). Shirts are in-stock and can be purchased at the Town Office. There are also a few tank tops remaining in adults sizes. Quantities & sizes are limited. The cost is $10.
