Verulamium - Visit the Verulamium Museum, a museum of every day life in Roman Britain, which features mosaics and recreated rooms. Within a short walk is the Roman Theatre, the best preserved example in Britain. Follow this with a visit to St Albans Abbey, home to the shrine of St Alban. Directions to Devil Dyke: Take the B651 north to Wheathampstead. Situated in Dyke Lane, on the south-east side of Wheathampstead. Devil’s Dyke - an earthworks ditch dug in pre roman times and claims to be the site where Caesar defeated Cassivellaunus. Postcode: AL4 8XX. Approx tour time: 1 hour. Directions to Welwyn Roman Baths: From B653 signposted Stanborough, turn left under the A1(M). Take next left and follow onto B197 Welwyn. Postcode: AL6 9FG. Approx tour time: 1 hour Welwyn Roman Baths - Welwyn Roman Baths is a 3rd century Roman bathing suite, the one surviving feature of a Roman villa, which is under the A1[M].
