PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS eastern.edu/preprofessional

Pre-professional programs are areas of academic interest (not majors) for students who intend to enter a professional school with their bachelor’s degree after graduation from Eastern. Students must still select a major while pursuing a pre-professional program. Students receive personalized advising specifically for their preprofessional program throughout their studies at Eastern and applications to graduate school.

Pre-Dental, Pre-Med, Pre-Physician Assistant, Pre-Podiatric, and Pre-Vet Tracks Students in these tracks are challenged to strive for academic excellence in their chosen major while cultivating a love for rigorous, scientific reasoning and a desire to be instruments of God’s healing hands. Individual advising offers students step-by-step guidance and support. Small class sizes facilitate learning and unique course offerings enable students to holistically prepare for their future medical careers. Medical, Dental and Veterinary schools attended by recent EU graduates include (among others): Penn State College of Medicine, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine, Temple University (Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Podiatric Medicine), University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University, University of Maryland School of Dentistry, and University of Pennsylvania School of and School of Veterinary Medicine.

Pre-Pharmacy Track Eastern's pre-pharmacy major in Biochemical Studies includes all the courses necessary to prepare for a graduate degree in pharmacy at the vast majority of pharmacy schools throughout the country. Eastern students can benefit from our partnerships with Temple University and with Howard University that guarantee qualified students entrance in their distinguished Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs. These are two of the oldest established pharmacy schools in the country. Temple

Eastern University Majors and Programs | eastern.edu/majors

University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) offers a customized doctor of pharmacy degree through elective tracks such as clinical trials and drug safety. Howard University College of Pharmacy offers joint degree programs such as PharmD/ MBA and PharmD/MPH. While some colleges have developed complicated 3+4 articulation agreements that depend on graduate coursework for undergraduate degree completion, Eastern’s FastPass program allows students to complete the pre-pharmacy degree program in a little as 3 years already. This also means that students are not locked into pharmacy if they change their career goals; they can still pursue advanced degrees in other areas such as pharmaceuticals and public health, or find technical jobs in healthcare and the chemical industry.

Law schools attended by recent EU graduates include (among others): Boston University, Drexel University, Harvard University, Temple University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Virginia, and Villanova University.

Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Occupational Therapy, and Pre-Athletic Training Tracks Our pre-professional programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and athletic training provide students with a sound background in the natural and social sciences necessary for admission to graduate programs in these fields. Prerequisite courses are incorporated within the coursework required of other majors, such as biology, health science, psychology, and exercise science. This allows students to gain knowledge and skills necessary to obtain a job related to their major in addition to pursuing graduate professional studies.

Pre-Law Minor The Pre-Law Minor and advising track offers an interdisciplinary introduction to law and legal institutions that emphasizes the skills necessary for success in law school, as well as graduate programs and careers in law. Law schools do not require a specific major or specific classes, but emphasize certain skills essential to success.

Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Athletic Training schools attended by recent EU graduates include (among others): Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of St. Augustine, Jefferson University, Drexel University, Arcadia University, Western University, and Temple University.
