Three Points Enzo’ s Ra separate leaders and sixth With two rounds left in the National Youth League, the claim to the title remains unknown with six teams still in the running There may be only two rounds left in the National Youth League but the destination of the title remains anyone’s guess with a remarkable six teams still very much in the running. Only three points separate leaders Hamilton Wanderers from sixth-placed Canterbury United after Round Seven, which took place over the weekend and kept the race for glory wide open with some intriguing results. Wanderers missed the opportunity to assert their dominance at the top in being held by ten-man Auckland City while fellow title challengers Canterbury, Wellington Phoenix and Team Wellington all kept their hopes alive with wins and were joined in celebrating a victory by Tasman United, who notched just their second three-pointer of the campaign. With so little separating the top six, this weekend’s Round Eight action will be hugely important in the title race.

NEWS

8th Grade Mini-Tournament fun at Michaels Ave Key people within Eastern Suburbs, Ellerslie and Fencibles all got together to show that the East clubs new relationship as part of the NYL side is alive and well. To celebrate the last NYL game at Michaels Ave a 4-team mini tournament was organised between two Suburbs teams, a Fencibles team and a Three Kings team who came in to replace the Ellerslie team who had to withdraw late. Everyone had a great time as they played three pool games and then a 1v2 and a 3v4 final while the NYL game between Eastern Suburbs and Team Wellington was being played on the main pitch. Thanks to everyone who was involved, and helped organise including Hoani, Jason and Julie. There are some pictures from the tournament - more available on the Eastern Suburbs Facebook Page under photos and albums
