Fair Trade Futures – Opening Event Companies operating in the Bournemouth and Poole area were invited to explore how a values-based approach could be good for business, the community and the environment. The programme commenced with an Opening Event at Avonbourne School on 3rd March 2011. Key questions explored included: Could Fairtrade be more than just the right choice of coffee and tea in the canteen? Can businesses be more successful if they operate in ways that are fair, ethically sound and genuinely environmentally friendly? Participating companies have been invited to continue working with the Earth Charter and to share their progress at a Reception in the summer.
