At 7:00pm on Friday, December 2 nd, 2016, the Ramsay High School Football Team had one thing in mind – to become the 2016 Alabama 6A Champions. The players and their coaches saw that goal accomplished two hours later. Ramsay earned a 21-16 win in the Class 6A state championship game against Opelika High School at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium, an afterschool special-inspired season finale for a high school football program which 40 years ago, disbanded.
20 years. Harley, and senior and the game's MVP, finished with his last high school football game for the ages: 21 carries for 158 yards and 132 passing yards with three touchdowns. He danced and dodged through Opelika's defense, buying himself time to throw or in other cases, find a lane. Teammate Jamarcus Ellison added 49 yards on 19 carries. Ellison also caught a 48-yard pass. The Rams returned to football in 2012, suffering through a onewin season and two wins the following season.

03 30th Annual Pioneer Classic Wheelchair Basketball January 13th—15th @ Lakeshore Foundation Recognized as one of the largest and most prestigious wheelchair basketball tournaments in the nation, 17 adult and youth teams totalling more than 150 athletes will compete for Division I and II/ III titles. Lakeshore's adult and youth teams will be competing and will face teams from across the country.
Each night 41 families who have traveled to Birmingham for pediatric care are able to stay together in an affordable, comfortable and safe place just minutes from their child's bedside. The MLK Day 5K Drum Run is a fun and active event to celebrate the MLK Day holiday weekend. Since its 2012 inception in Atlanta, GA, the race has grown to over 2000 runners/walkers and featured over 200 drummers from metro area schools and groups.
When each approved organization signs up as a team, $5 of each team member's registration will be returned to that organization for use in community efforts of its choice.
