Brieven or the description with sonagram by Rasmussen & Anderton (2005): ‘sharp, downslurred, clipped whistle sPLEEU’. Track (b) corresponds to the description by Rasmussen & Anderton (2005) of the alarm call: a harsh rasping che’e’e’h very frequently heard in autumn. CD4-53. Robb correctly pointed out that Rhopocichla atriceps is in fact Tephrodornis sylvicola. CD4-54. Dumetia hyperythra. Robb correctly stated that there is no Dumetia hyperythra to be heard at the beginning but, instead, Ficedula tricolor. Indeed one can hear Ficedula tricolor during the first 18 s, identical to the one presented by Scott (2003). After 18 s, the tsii and trec trec calls correspond with descriptions by Rasmussen & Anderton (2005) and also Grimmett et al (1999) for Dumetia. CD4-55b. Chrysomma sinense. Robb correctly suggested that the second sequence (b) could be Turdoides affinis. This corresponds with Sivaprasad (1994) and also CD4-61 in our CDs. CD5-03. Prinia buchanani. Robb correctly pointed out that this is in fact Prinia hodgsoni. CD5-20c. Sitta frontalis. Robb remarked that this could be Dicaeum or a sunbird. We cannot do anything with this suggestion. CD5-31. Zosterops palpebrosus. Robb stresses

the analogy with Eumyas thalassinus in northern India. The song sequence (a) is indeed identical to Eumyas in Barucha (2003). However, the following sequences (b, c and d) are really from Zosterops. To summarize, these are eight misidentifications in this publication of 560 recordings. As already put forward by Robb, this proportion is lower than usual for comprehensive sound publications presented for the first time for a large region. References
