Focus on Photography Weekend Durras North 19/20/21 August, 2011
Do you want to improve your photography? Do you need to better understand your camera? Do you want practical experience taking photos? I donʼt know about you, but I certainly want all of the above. Whilst leading a trekking group in Nepal recently, it struck me how keen fellow travellers were to learn more about their cameras and how to better develop their photographic skills. (Pardon the pun!) Over 3 weeks, we compared our photos and helped each other out. By the end of the trip, having our cameras set to “Auto” was frowned upon. Our only tutor was a heavy camera manual I had to lug around in my backpack. Our Focus on Photography Weekend will replicate what we did in Nepal. But this time, we will have two photography experts to help us out. Cody Buchert and June Andersen. Their brief is simple. Give the participants a few insights into how to take better photos. Weʼll keep the weekend informal. A few sit down sessions discussing the basics. Maybe some “here is how I did it” photos. We imagine that the participants will help guide us with their photographic needs. (Vague isnʼt it!) Most importantly, weʼlll put any theory into practice. Durras Lake, the beach, Murramarang National Park and the wildlife will all provide us with plenty of photographic opportunities. The group will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants so get in early! At this stage, participation will be limited to guests of Durras Lake North Holiday Park for the two nights. Accommodation is available in cottages, cabins or in our camping ground. The cost is just $87 per participant.
Book your spot now For bookings and further information, please call Peter on 1800 387727 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org It is not possible to book accommodation on our website for this weekend. You will need to phone us for bookings.
Our Workshop Team Cody Buchert is a South Coast resident who loves surfing, camping and photography. “Codes” picked up a camera just a short time ago, but already has proven his skills with an incredible portfolio of images. His enthusiasm for photography is contgagious. Check out some of his beautiful work at colourbycodes.blogspot.com
June Andersen is an educator with a wealth of experience both in Australia and overseas. With 25 years in the visual arts profession she has the ability to make the most complex - and the most basic - procedures easily understood. Most importantly, she is just a passionate photographer! Peter Counsell will be your host for the weekend. Not a photography expert by any means - but he has picked up many travel photography tips from his adventure travel background.
