BUSINESS PROFILE

VERVE DESIGN HAS ITS FINGER ON THE CREATIVE PULSE. THIS SMALL TEAM OF CREATIVES IS LEAVING A HUGE MARK ON SOME OF TOWNSVILLE’S BIGGEST PROJECTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS.

THE AWARD-WINNING STUDIO is made up of some of the most creative minds in the country and has left its artistic touch on many of the biggest projects in Townsville and beyond. From brand managers for Townsville’s newest attractions, City Lane and Jezzine Barracks, to working with Australia’s top 10 food blogger, Quirky Cooking’s Jo Whitton, Verve’s cutting edge designers bring ideas to life with inspiring graphic design and branding. For Creative Director Teegan Nash, the results come from inspiring a team and working with clients who each have a genuine passion for what they do. “We have a values based approach to everything we do. We have a strong office culture where we value thoughtful, ethical people and projects.

“We love helping creatives, foodies and those in the health/wellbeing and earth conscious industries, where we can explore what makes them individual and unique and express this as an overall brand – in messaging, visuals, print and online.” The Verve team is made up of – Teegan Nash, Stephen Bryde, Holly Booth, Chelsea Sutherland and Sarah Bell – they bring cutting edge graphic design,

up to the minute ideas and a passion for innovation, imagination and originality. “I value thoughtful and passionate ideas from my team,” Teegan says. “Everyone at Verve is encouraged to always speak their mind, bring new ideas to the table, and help shape what they do. By making space for this innovation to be born and bred, we’re creating a flourishing, positive culture of creative growth.” “Our team culture is important. Part of our hiring process is focused on what each person values in their life and what’s important to them. This goes a long way in understanding how well they’ll fit into our ‘family’.” Family is a very fitting word as working with Verve is like working with a friend. Their approach is personal and they treat their clients like good friends. “Having a friendly and positive culture with our clients is important in our day, it makes us more creative,” Teegan explains. “It’s also why I make room for the team to do the things they love outside of work – I call it a perfect work day.” “Our perfect work day means our team members work when they’re most creative and have time for other personal or creative projects outside of work. Our

clients know and love that Stephen has a two hour siesta in the middle of the day where he spends time with his new baby girl, has a delicious lunch and maybe a nap – if it makes you a better creative then why not?” Through collaboration and working with other local creatives and James Cook University, the team is continuing to support the growth of the region, and playing a leading role in Townsville’s perceptions of professional creatives. With such passion, it’s no wonder Verve was a finalist in six Queensland Multimedia Awards last year and claimed the prize for two categories. The local studio seems set to continue making its mark around the country.
