Assistant Manager Appointed. Congratulations to Padraig Quigley who is our new Assistant Station Manager. On behalf of all the members and staff, I’d like to welcome him to his new position. Newspaper Promotion. We are running a number of sponsored items in the Dundalk Leader until the end of August. Paula Kavanagh will shortly go Maternity Leave and Mary McCormack will take her place. Trainees We have two trainees on work experience from Northern Sound for the month of July - Cathy Fitzpatrick and Glenn Loughran. Vacancy - Evening Duty Manager Description: Assist in research and production of Dundalk FM programmes. Cover sound desk/reception. Setup programmes for later broadcast. Research/assist outside broad casting. Support volunteers with training and production. Radio projects, ads and promotions. Applicants must be registered with FÁS and meet specific eligibility criteria for these posts (see CE Eligibility link above). Eligibility will be checked by FAS prior to any referral for CE Schemes. New Website in September We are working with a local web designer with the intention of having a new website launched at the September AGM. Community Producer Training (limited to 10 members) If you would like to become a Community Producer with responsibility for training a community group to make a programme or series of programmes, then you will be interested in a place with trainer Niamh Farren (Aontas) for three workshops during July and August. The workshops will take place in the Dundalk FM studios. We will examine the role and duties of a ‘Producer’ record a 30-minute programme with a local group. Meet ‌Andrew Browne from The Saturday Night Concept Live team. The lads including Dean Garland and Ken Gaughran have been huge promoters of the station by supporting Highway 67 events in town and they recently promoted and presented a gig at the Marshes featuring local bands the Curtain Thieves, The Fontanels, Beached Whale and Cilium.
