Facilitated by Vancouver Arts Colloquium Society (VACS), Weaving Our Way is about building friendship while learning and peer-teaching the art of intercultural weaving. Go at your own pace and follow your personal passion on the loom. Bring your own project (any types of weaving) and enthusiasm to the circle. This social recreation program is for young adults with developmental disabilities who are looking to have fun, learn skills, and socialize. The majority of activities will be out trips, with some evenings spent at Dunbar Community Centre. Participants will be provided opportunities to develop their confidence social skills, and interact in a group environment. All participants (new and returning) need to schedule an assessment with staff prior to the first session. Some participants may be asked to provide their own 1 to 1 support.
