Office Professional Day Celebrated by Department On Wednesday, April 24th we celebrated Office Professional Day by honoring everyone in the department who contributes in a manner other than clinically or scientifically. They truly support our mission. To say ‘thank you’ the department provided a luncheon. In addition, faculty, fellows, and residents contributed to floral arrangements and dessert. The number of folks who contributed demonstrates just how valued the staff are.

Tips for the Clinical Researcher “The Regulatory Binder” Bonnie Funk

Duke University follows ICH Guidelines for the collection of “Essential Documents” related to clinical research. This collection of documents is most often referred to as the Regulatory Binder. For a list of what is required for a protocol which has prospective enrollment, please see the CRSO’s Guide to Clinical Research Administration, Management & Conduct at http://crso.som.duke.edu. The link to the Guide book is on the right hand menu. The Regulatory Binder information is on page 91. When organizing the information in the Regulatory Binder, the most current information should be at the beginning of each section. For a list of what is required for a retrospective chart review, please see the “Guideline for Regulatory Documentation for Retrospective Chart Reviews.” This is available on the CRSO’s website (same link as above) under ‘Policies’ on the left hand menu.

Dream Campaign Fiscal Year 2012 Goal The DREAM Innovation Grant (DIG) supports innovative high-risk, and potentially high-reward investigations to accelerate anesthesia and pain management research. Our goal is to raise $90,000, which will allow us to fund three $30K DIG recipients in 2013. The winners of this grant will be announced in October 2012. Total raised to date: $62,181.00. To make a gift, please visit: http://blueprint.duhs.duke.edu/
